The Adonis Hotel in Antalya, Turkey offers a few notable positives, including a spacious and attractive reception hall and, if you’re lucky enough to get a sea-view room, absolutely majestic views of the sea and mountains. The dinner buffet is also a highlight, with a good selection of dishes and a hardworking, gracious, and friendly dinner staff who do their best to make guests feel welcome. Unfortunately, these positives are overshadowed by several significant drawbacks. The hotel is situated in a residential area, which may not be ideal for travelers looking for a more lively or central location. The reception staff were not particularly friendly or helpful; when we had questions, the most common response was, “I just work here,” and we were told to address any complaints to the owner’s daughter in the morning. Another frustration is the hotel’s policy of charging for internet access per device rather than per room, which can quickly add up if you have multiple devices. If you need a second room key for your spouse, be prepared to pay a $10 deposit for the plastic card. The hallways are poorly lit and the carpets are noticeably dirty, giving a neglected feel to the common areas. The bathroom amenities are outdated and sometimes not fully functional. The toilet looked like it was from the 1950s, and the sink faucets and shower plumbing were not much newer. We expected a higher standard for our vacation. If these issues don’t bother you, the hotel may still be a reasonable choice, but for us, they detracted significantly from our overall experience.
