What a hotel, the location was just perfect. Only 20 mins walk or short bus ride away from gorgeous Skiathos Town. Bus stop 5 was just 50 yds up the road, where you could get the excellent bus service every 10 mins to all the beaches South, or to Skiathos Town in the other direction. All for just 2 Euros. Skiathos Town, with its vibrant nightlife, is a must, where you can sip cocktails by the old port watching life go by. We ate out at The Final Step restaurant (the views from up there were superb). We also ate out at Mouria Taverna, which is signposted just off Papadiamantis Street. A real, authentic Greek taverna off the beaten track with a lovely atmosphere, with excellent food at a reasonable price. We were there during the intense heatwave that Greece was experiencing at the time, so unfortunately, we didn't venture out to any of the beaches. I love the heat, but it was even a tad too hot for me. (temperatures pushing 40c) Which was a shame. The pool area was adequate for the size of the hotel. There was no issue with getting beds & a shade as there was always plenty to choose from. The only small issue we had was that we only had a very limited side sea view from the balcony. with a large bush straight in front of the balcony, which was a little off-putting at first, but we soon got used to it. The staff were the best we have ever encountered, from Panos the Manager to Ludovic the concierge, who lugs cases up & down the 100 or so steps in temperatures of 35c & above. What an asset to the organisation he is. Dimitri's service in the restaurant is second to none. His attention to detail was brilliant. As soon as you walked into the restaurant, he was there serving you with coffee & various breads & pastries. He couldn’t do enough for you. Niki, Sotiris, Mary & Konstantinos all provided brilliant service at the bar. Niki is a real character who we loved from the minute we arrived. We clicked straight away as she had lived for some time in Manchester. Sotiris was a lovely guy with a lovely disposition. His service was top-notch. Mary also loved to go out of her way to ensure top-class service. She was always very pleasant to us & wanted to make sure everything was perfect. Konstantinos was new & was still learning the ropes. Again, he provided great service, which couldn't be faulted. The guys on Reception, Elena & Dimitri #2 were also out of this world. Nothing was too much for them; they would go out of their way to make sure you received the best experience. A special mention must go to the kitchen staff, who worked tirelessly preparing food in such intense heat. The food was out of this world & so delicious, it was well presented on the plate. I did, however, find it strange that the All-Inclusive option was à la Carte. Normally, it's buffet service. Perhaps that's something that could be considered for the future. Yes, there are a lot of steps on the complex, which would be a problem for those with mobility issues, but we treated it as our daily exercise for the day. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful holiday, in a lovely location close to all the amenities such as beaches & Skiathos Town. Well done Aegean Suites for making our holiday one of the best we've experienced. Mark & Leola Taylor from Stockport (Room 202)
