Ok, for the serial moaners, let's get the minor irritations (rather than negatives) out of the way 1st. Sure, the place could do with a lick of paint and yes, the queuing at peak mealtimes and bartimes is not ideal, and the location, whilst boasting the most amazing views of the Aegean across to Turkey, is far from perfect if you want to spend any time in Kos Town as you have to rely on a shuttle service that requires booking the evening before (again usually by joining a queue) and the place is clearly understaffed in all aspects (hence the queuing) but we are having a truly wonderful stay. If you want perfection, your choice of several restaurants and private access to a beach then this place is definitely not for you - but you're not paying the £6-7k that this sort of holiday demands. However, if you want to spend quality family time in comfortable accommodation with access to several pools (most of which are located directly outside the rooms) whilst enjoying decent food & drink and the most stunning views, then this place is right up your street. The site is vast, with some rooms (ours included) quite a distance from the main hub but the hotel lay on lifts to the more remote areas which is a real help late at night especially. I don't concur with the view that the staff are rude and unhelpful - they are clearly being overworked but, in general, they have a positive attitude towards the guests - it's amazing how courteous they can be if they are offered the same courtesy by the guests. The entertainment staff are extremely enthusiastic, hardworking and proactive, checking in on you daily around the pool to check that everything is ok and to encourage you to take part in the daily activities, whilst not being too pushy. Evening entertainment is the usual family holiday fare with mini disco, bingo, karaoke, quizzes, live music, etc. A visit into the lively and stunning Kos Town is a must during your stay - here you will find plenty of bars and restaurants at extremely reasonable prices and excellent quality/settings. There is a lovely beach that goes on and on with luxury sunbeds available at the several different beachside bars for a relatively inexpensive price. There are also several different boat trips for couples and families alike available at the harbour (again at reasonable prices). As mentioned above, the hotel offers a free hourly shuttle service throughout the day but the booking system and queing that it brings is not ideal - the hotel could improve this service so much more by running a half-hourly rather than hourly service, and later into the night - last shuttle is at 6pm. For those not keen on the shuttle, a taxi will cost you around €15 each way. To sum up, the place is far from perfect, but it is far from the dirty, miserable place that some on here have described - as an experienced budget all-inclusive holiday maker, this holiday experience has been among the best and I would urge you to take the 1 & 2 star reviews with a huge pinch of salt. If you approach your holiday with a positive attitude, you will have a positive experience here, trust me.
