Afandou Bay Resort Suites

Had a great honeymoon here. Would love to come back again in the future

We have just come back from our honeymoon at Afandou. The location - it’s very quiet and a small town. Not much going on. But we felt safe and the locals were friendly and chatty. A bit further down the strip is a lot of erosion to the pavements and it appears a lot of work is being done. You can’t see it from the hotel but I would bother turning right out of the hotel for a walk. It’s a bit of a bomb site. Lots of debris, etc It’s a 30 mins drive to Rhodes or Lindos which was beautiful. I recommend Lindos for a nice beach day at St Paul’s bay / amazing. Old Rhodes town lovely to walk around and eat out in, but souvenirs etc but didn’t think much of the beach. It was very crowded. We prefer a quiet experience. But each to their own. Word of warning they are very peddly beaches. Bring good footwear when going in. Room - we stayed In a standard double room which was tastefully decorated and the maid came and cleaned everyday. My only gripe at the room was no tea or coffee next to the kettle and cups. That would have been nice to have. The beds were comfortable I had the best nights sleep without waking up 3 am In A long time. (Would have been nicer however if we had a double bed as we had two single pushed together.) The staff - the reception, hospitality staff and all other staff we came across were friendly and very hard working. Easy to ask for help if needed. Taxi company the hotel used are two brothers who we used a few times were lovely and chatty and didn’t take long to turn up whenever we needed them. Hotel facility themselves were clean and tidy , reception area nicely decorated and the restaurant was pleasant. Food choice - typical buffet style with varying meals in the evening . I saw people complain on here about it being pork and fish orientated, but I saw a variety of meats, but anyhow isn’t that the Greek diet? Who wants British food when you’re away? Enjoy it. Also saw people complain on here about a lot of German people there, there were a few but also a a lot of British, and other nationalities. Again, everyone has a right to a holiday, almost every guest we saw smiled said hello wherever they were from, I personally enjoy meeting people from all over the world. If you want quiet, nice staff and don’t mind a bit of short travelling to get to places of interest this is the hotel to book. We would return to Greece for sure. Thankyou everyone at Afandou bay.

The service was absolutely amazing. The room was so big and beautiful. We came for my fathers 70th birthday and the staff surprised him and it was a perfect holiday

This was the best holiday I'd ever been on. My girlfriend and I were looked after so well by all the staff, from Kiki greeting us at reception, to also let us know they had put some food aside for us as our transfer got in so late as we arrived. A lot of the staff do a variety of different roles, from working the restaurant, to serving cocktails in the bar, and others. A huge thank you to Daria, Christina, Royd, Artem, Christine, Maria, Mary, and the restaurant manager to always making us feel so welcome, and enjoying some delightful conversation, and suggesting a wide variety of activities depending on what we felt like doing. We really didn't want to leave. We felt like we were in paradise. The tasteful layout and style of the hotel, how incredibly close it is to the sea, and how nice and quiet it was (not many children) as well as the great entertainment that was supplied (local greek musicians of various styles on different days, 3 days a week). We didn't know what to expect with this holiday, and we were blown away with how great it was. It exceeded all our expectations. The suite we stayed in was lovely and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was incredibly tasty. I cannot fault anything.
