Stayed at Agnus Unawatuna recently and it was exactly the kind of peaceful escape we were looking for. The location is a real highlight. Set above the main Unawatuna strip, it offers a beautiful elevated view of the ocean while still being just a short drive to the beach and restaurants. You get the best of both worlds—easy access when you want activity, but far enough removed to enjoy quiet and privacy. The food was consistently impressive. Breakfast had a good mix of local and Western options, all fresh and well-prepared. Dinner stood out even more, with quality ingredients and great flavors—especially the seafood. The setting makes it even better, as you’re dining with a view. A standout touch was the complimentary tuk tuk ride to Jungle Beach. It made exploring the area effortless and added a bit of fun to the experience—definitely a highlight. What really stood out though was the calm atmosphere. The property feels intimate and relaxed, not overcrowded or noisy like many places in the area. Whether you’re by the pool or just sitting out enjoying the view, it’s incredibly peaceful. Overall, a great choice if you’re looking for somewhere in Unawatuna that balances convenience with a serene, laid-back vibe. Oh and the ice cream is a must have!
