Akron Seascape hotel - great hotel

31 Aug 2026
Nothing but praise for this hotel, not sure what people expect from a Greek 4 star completely different culture from Spain or turkey so font compare AI for AI to each country. First off hotel room , air con fully working, bathroom clean and tidy with nice warm or cold shower, tea and coffee maker in room with all condiments including milk. Working fridge (nice touch) bottle of water in room, rooms made up during the day and fresh towels left . Next pool area and surroundings around hotel all very clean , brushing paths , cleaning windows, washing down pool area and pool man cleaning all pools. Pool area is great coffee, ice cream , water and pre wrapped sandwiches if you’re snackish. Staff - friendly always saying hello, maintenance on site seen fixing anything broken or needing a repair. Food - all good not had a bad meal even had fresh ribs at lunch the other day, it’s all inclusive so yes there are a few repeats of food , but many choices each day so not a problem for choice, beer, wine all on tap sever yourself (White, Red and Rose wine). Lots of fruit for after a from peaches, apples and water melon plus lots more, but could do a little better on cakes. Canal D’Amour is a stones through away picture of us two having a nice dip . *still here for another week so can update I post, but doubt I will need to 😁👍 Nigel & Hannah

Nice relaxing break, lovely place

31 Jul 2026
Unbelievable location and setting, on the west side of Sidari adjoining the steps to the Canal d’Amour, and stunning views across the coast, Albanian mountains and brilliant sunsets. Around a 5 min walk to the local shops, restaurant and bars and then another 5-10 mins to the main strip which is great for all ages including a great night out, entertainment in all the bars and karaoke etc. Madisons is a good shout. On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by very friendly reception staff who spoke really good English and explained everything about our room, facilities, dinner service, bar, and brought us bottles of chilled water for the fridge. The main entrance and reception is down near the busier road with a few mins walk to the main pool area and dining. Our room was a family maisonette which is over 2 floors with a couple of sofa beds on the lower floor and double bedroom on the upper, with a shared shower room and toilet. Our room was attended to every day with fresh towels and beds made. The rooms are clean, and quite modern and have a tv in each area, decent sized fridge and plenty of socket outlets. The air conditioning was bliss and worked the whole of our stay. We had no trouble sleeping. We had a nice sea view from our balcony. Some of the rooms have shared up pools which looked great. The maisonettes tend to be on top of the swim up rooms. The hotel is very relaxed and friendly, and all the staff are always wanting to help and make you feel welcome which we loved. The manager asked us on several occasions if everything was ok and was always checking in with the guests, a very cheerful character. There is a main pool which is a good size and depth and has a small baby pool, there was a good mix of small/large families and couples with plenty of sunbeds and all close to the pool bar which is open from 10am-11pm. Food was great, nice wide range of choice every day for breakfast lunch and dinner in the main dining area, and plenty of salad, drinks, fruit, etc. ice cream is 24-7 help yourself at the pool bar area. There was a Greek themed night while we were there. There is a spa which isn’t included but the prices looked reasonable. The gym is useable and workable only just, but is very small and needs new equipment. The vibe is peaceful and friendly, this isn’t a full on hotel with activities, the guest are left to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. Each night there is some form of entertaining at the outdoor bar area, either DJ just playing music or a local band who were authentic and great. We had drinks there and then ventured into Sidari on a few occasions as our boys are 15 and 21, but the place was still full and drinks flowing at 11-12pm. A highlight of our stay was taking in the sunset with a drink or two overlooking stunning scenery. The Canal d’Armour is great with clear sea and you can swim out to caves etc, lots of places to jump in off the smooth rocks. It can get busy with tourists every day and lots of visitors in the evening for the sunset, some of them do use the hotel bar for a quick bite and drink, but are told by hotel staff to stay in designated areas to sit and there was no issue with this. The costal path actually runs through the edge of the hotel grounds past the canal and is a lovely walk either side with stunning views and beaches. There is a bus stop near the three little Pigs restaurant that takes you to Corfu town for around 8 euros return and takes around 45-50 mins, we spent a day there which is beautiful. The old fortress is worth a visit. Overall we loved our time at Akron and Corfu in general and would recommend it to anyone, if you’re wanting full large hotel facilities and kids clubs etc this place isn’t really offering that kind of holiday, but for just pure relaxation, safety, nice people and great surroundings it was definitely value for money in our opinion and we would definitely stay here again in the future.

Decent hotel in good location

31 Jul 2026
Just spent 10 nights here with wife and four kids from 17 to 9. Rooms are clean and air con is great. Decent pool. Deck chairs could all do with being fixed up/ tightened. Food was a little repetitive. Evening entertainment wasn’t the best. Good location for walking into Sidari. Gym not great. Only 3 weights of dumbbells and the treadmills don’t work. Some apartments have their own direct pool which might suit couples.

Not 4*…

31 Jul 2026
Adjoining Rooms Not Honoured We booked as a family of seven (3 rooms) and specifically requested adjoining rooms. This request was not honoured on arrival, and we had to complain three times before the hotel moved our rooms together. We had also emailed the hotel directly before travelling regarding our room request, but they never even acknowledged our email. Extremely Poor Reception Staff Our first impression of the hotel was extremely disappointing. The receptionist who checked us in was rude, unhelpful and appeared completely uninterested in welcoming guests. He argued with a colleague while checking us in, never wished us a pleasant holiday, and it was without doubt the worst hotel check-in experience we have ever had. Sadly, this poor customer service continued until departure. At check-out, we handed over two room keys and were abruptly asked, "Where is the other one?" She was checking out slightly later (it was only 8.20am) There was no courtesy, no enquiry as to whether we had enjoyed our stay, and no thanks for our custom. This perfectly summed up the attitude of the reception team throughout our holiday. On one morning, the hotel had no running water. Reception provided no meaningful information, reassurance or updates about when the issue would be resolved. Guests were simply left waiting with no communication, which was particularly frustrating and unacceptable. Food and Snacks The food was one of the biggest disappointments. For the first two days, the daytime snacks consisted of just two clingfilm-wrapped sandwiches, which were completely unsuitable for children. On other days there were either no snacks available or pizza slices left sitting out in temperatures of around 34°C. The main restaurant offered extremely repetitive meals, with the same dishes served day after day. The desserts remained unchanged for four consecutive days. There was no weekly meal plan or indication of themed evenings, so guests had no idea what food would be available each night. Given the lack of variety, this meant we repeatedly found ourselves facing the same choices day after day. The lack of variety became so poor that we chose to eat out on several evenings despite having paid for an all-inclusive holiday. There was very little suitable for children, with no dedicated children's section or child-friendly options. Food was often unlabelled, making it difficult to identify dishes or allergens. Breakfast service was equally poor. Water frequently ran out, cups were unavailable, and tables were regularly left dirty until guests pointed this out to staff. Drinks The drinks offering was equally disappointing. The choice at the pool bar was very limited, and many drinks either tasted unpleasant or regularly ran out. Cocktails came from a machine and bore little resemblance to the drinks they claimed to be. The quality was so poor that we ended up purchasing drinks elsewhere, something we have never had to do on an all-inclusive holiday. Ice cream consisted solely of self-service tubs of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, which regularly ran out. Hotel Condition The hotel itself was extremely tired and did not resemble the photographs used to advertise it. There were dangerous areas around our pool, including damaged flooring, creating a genuine safety concern for families with young children. During our stay, the hotel was also affected by a significant storm which caused further damage to the property. Despite this, no member of staff checked on our family or enquired whether we were safe or required assistance. While we appreciate that severe weather is outside the hotel's control, the complete lack of concern or communication from management was disappointing. The hotel already appeared tired and in need of refurbishment before the storm, and afterwards it looked even worse. Entertainment Throughout our entire week's stay there was effectively no entertainment - we don’t normally like entertainment so this didn’t bother us. A "Greek Night" was advertised between 9pm and 11pm, but in reality this consisted simply of Lady Gaga music being played, with no Greek entertainment whatsoever. This was completely misleading and did not match what had been advertised. Disturbing Incident Between Staff One evening we witnessed an extremely disturbing incident at the pool bar. A chef and another member of staff became involved in a heated confrontation, standing nose-to-nose in front of numerous guests, including children. The chef threatened the other employee by stating he would "find him after." This behaviour was entirely unacceptable. The hotel manager witnessed the incident but made no attempt to remove the staff members from public view or calm the situation away from guests. She only apologised after we personally approached her to explain how unacceptable we felt the incident had been. There was no proactive apology or acknowledgement made to guests despite many families witnessing the altercation. Accessibility At no point was it made clear that our accommodation would require repeatedly walking up and down an extremely steep hill to access breakfast, lunch, drinks and other facilities. We travelled with an elderly parent who found this particularly difficult in temperatures of around 35°C. It appeared that the lobby bar near reception had closed, which would have significantly improved accessibility had it been operating. Closed Facilities The à la carte restaurant had been closed for several weeks before our arrival, further reducing dining options. Misrepresentation Overall, this hotel did not provide the facilities, service or quality expected of a 4-star property. The accommodation, food, drinks, entertainment, customer service and overall maintenance were all substantially below the standard described. In our opinion, this hotel is no better than a 2-star property and should not be marketed as a 4-star resort.
