At Aksari Resort we experienced the best service we ever had in any hotel in any country. ALL of the staff, and I mean everyone, was helpful and nice and beyond, I've never seen that anywhere else. The location is great: 25min-ish from Ubud city, so you have some peace and quiet and the hotel feels surrounded by nature. A free shuttle service allows you in and out of Ubud 3 times a day, and I feel we're closer to everything we have to visit with this location. There is a rental for scooters and taxi literally 100 meters in front of the hotel, very useful (we got a taxi for the day there, very cheap despite being last minute -same day request-). The hotel is extremely pretty and clean. The room was big and clean as well. Bed comfortable, bathroom downright amazing. The pool area was very very nice and enjoyable, but please note that the pool water is quite cold, and by the end of the day there isn't sun anymore in this area. I think it's best to enjoy it in the morning or early afternoon. However, if this is an issue for you, or want to better enjoy in the evening, there is an outdoor jacuzzi with warm water which is pretty great! Food is very good at the restaurant of the hotel, but it's also really expensive by Balinese standards. If money is not an issue, enjoy it ! If you want cheaper meals, you can go to E-Baki Kitchen in a less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel, it's super good and really cheap. So good we didn't want to try out more places after the first time. We had a really wonderful stay and I feel the location is very good, even if you're going to have to use taxi, shuttle or scooter to visit around (but you don't really have a choice no matter where you are in Ubud). I was sad we didn't stay longer at the hotel ! Really, the only "downside" of this hotel is that the pools's water was cold by usual standard (I did not mind it at all personally), and stuff was expensive there (but you have a very high quality service so it's worth the price imo). And that's only because I'm trying to think of a downside. Beware that it's quite humid so towels and swimwear don't dry off completely in a day often.
