Super Staff and resort

Just back from another trip to the resort. I have been coming here for 12 years and have seen some ups and downs over this time period. The resort is wonderful and very relaxing with no annoying music all day long. The night time live entertainment, including Raymond is wonderful. The staff that I deal with are the best and always helpful. I have known German and Alex (Vanilla) the entire time that I have been going there. Some of the newer staff that I have known for years are amazing as well. Wilberth, Aurora, Ducelli, Oscar, Jose, Carlos, Jaun, Daniela, Alejandro (Turtle Man), Alan, Elvira, Carolina, Luis and Erick. The rest of the staff out ans about along with the behind the scenes staff do an outstanding job trying to make sure you have a good time. Hats off to the hard working crew that do their best to clear the Sargassum algae from the beach. If you complain about this, either help out or be quiet. Its nature and the hotel/staff are not to blame.

Sunrises, Snorkeling and Meditation

Beautiful, small resort with amazing staff. We enjoyed our stay. Highlights were seeing the iguanas everywhere, yoga and meditation classes, sunrises, Alejandro's turtle talk (a definite must), snorkeling and stingrays. The food was just ok in our opinion. We didn't worry about pool or beach loungers, as German made sure to find you something. Those that leave their things on the loungers too long without returning will have their items removed. We were in building 4 and had the most amazing view from our room. Overall, lovely resort.

Fantastic week at Akumal Bay Resort

We spent one week at Akumal Beach resort and we absolutely loved it. The resort has a jungle -y feel and luckily it's a smaller hotel. The food is great and so are the drinks. The rooms and the common areas are always cleaned. All staff is super friendly and hardworking ( please be generous with your tip) The hotel has lots of free activities like, yoga, meditation, beach volleyball, Spanish dance lessons etc. The seaweed was cleaned daily when we were there but we could still enjoy the beach and the sea. There is snorkeling opportunity towards the left side of the hotel beach and it's possible to rent snorkeling set ( bring your mouthpiece or you can purchase one) We were able to see lots of fish and stingrays but if you want to see 🐢 turtles, you have to get to the bay and pay one of the companies there. We are planning to return to this great resort. Thanks for the wonderful stay.

This was our second stay at Akumal resort n we hope to go back again . The staff are all hard working, so accomodating, and well trained . The resort is smaller n all the rooms face the beach but buildings 3 and 4 have the best views and are more quiet . There is live music every night so these buildings are further away from that . We attended the water stretch class every day n the 5 pm meditation which is a sound bath , my favorite activity ! There is an endless amount of food of course. Four main restaurants, a snack bar by pool and buffet . I felt safe there n saw security walking around everyday . We left resort once for a tour off campus for half a day to tulum . Flew to Cancun n took a van we planned ahead of time USA transfer. We were cautious as we are on all travels .
