Great hotel and location was good though near the Veronica’s strip which was a bit busy on approach to the hotel in the evenings for us personally though couldn’t hear any noise from inside the rooms.

Brit review and second time too Tenerife,(stayed in columbus hotel before). check in/out was easy and they normally have an english speaker, booked siam and loro parks with no issues through front desk. worth a mention that its easy to walk to siam park 11mins slight up hill, loro 2hr bus. we went full board food and drink, food was served 3 times a day in the main dining area with a vast array of options to suit all but the fussiest. There were slight variations in the meals daily and food was replenished on going. some of the meat /fish/pasta is cooked in front of you for you to try. Down sides would be it gets very busy first hour of opening as was tension like a united nations meeting, coffee and juice machines were available at breakfast but you need your keycard for verification/payment of other drinks which could be slow when busy . pool consisted of 2 pools one deep one shallow and a jacuzzi, sun loungers all round pool area which we always seemed to get a couple in the afternoon, judging by the towels in the morning ze germans had landed. Also poolside were 2 small bars with generous measures and served food burgers, chips etc. family evening entertainment shows were also shown outside. one little gem was a back door on the hotel which saved time and lead straight onto the strip and easy access to the beach(shuts early evening} . rooms were spacious and clean, lost a nights sleep due to veronicas facing our room so asked to be moved the next day and was done promptly to other side of hotel.4 english t.v channels and wifi seemed to drop out sometimes. overall hotel did look tired and in need of a deep clean and tart up but not surprising with the amount of footfall ,cleaners were about daily. would i stay again? YES.

We stayed in the Gala for 10 nights and generally enjoyed our stay. It had a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere with a very helpful reception team. The rooms were good with a nice sea view and were frequently served by room-maids. 4 sets of lifts made sure that waiting time was always kept to a minimum. The Hotel employed a very efficient card system for room security, internal purchases and identity. This - for instance - allowed drinks to be bought during meal times and the cost allocated to the end of stay Bill .This worked perfectly for us.. For me, the food was very nice. Plenty of main choices accompanied by delicious salads. The staff were efficient and the Restaurant perfectly clean. As a couple we found the noise levels during meal times very loud. The sound of wooden chairs being pulled across the floor was quite distracting from the quality of the food. The Gala was a little away from access to the very good Titsa bus network.. However, Reception would readily call a taxi for guests and suggest how much the bill should be. There was on-site entertainment every night and in-general was of a good quality with the mini-disco proving a hilarious nightly option. Drink prices were very good with a nice bottle of red setting you back 14€. Overall we highly enjoyed our stay at the Gala and would highly recommend it.
