Alexandre Hotel Gala

We were mostly disappointed with our stay at this hotel for reasons that may be idiosyncratic to the needs of our children/family. Starting with the pros though, the rooms and reception area were clean and the daily servicing of the room was excellent. Where we were located in the hotel was also quiet at night, though speaking to other families, it does depend which side of the hotel you are on. The pools were good though watch out for the 15 euro deposit per towel. KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS. On the downside, the food quality was poor. Specifically, there were no pancakes in the morning and the crepes that were put out were usually cold by the time you got to them. The sausages were just weird and the one morning we had a late breakfast (after 9am, rush hour when you have to queue to get in), there was no bread left for toast. The griddle was too hot so the fried eggs were burnt at the bottom and uncooked at the top. For the evening meal, if you have half board, you have to pay for all your drinks, including water. We brought our own water though in the end, we went out to eat. Speaking with families who had stayed at the hotel before, they too said the food quality had gone down. When we took our children out for food (6, 8 and 10), they said "is this what proper food tastes like?" There is a super little coffee house just a few yards outside the hotel which we ended up getting most of our breakfast from. The other bugbear was the wifi which was very spotty. Our children had to sit by the room door to get a good enough signal. Location-wise, there is a handy door that takes you past McDonalds across from the beach but that door was not available for our stay. That was a shame though it is not a long walk to the beach. Also, we found it hard to work out what was happening with the kids club and evening activities for the kids (see next paragraph). We had family staying at the SOL Tenerife hotel and as comparison, the wifi there was excellent, it was truly beachfront, they did have fresh pancakes for breakfast and their kids club was amazing. Our children joined in with their activities during the day and in the evening. Overall, compared to other places we have stayed in Gran Canaria, this hotel was the least positive experience. Nothing disastrous and very first-world complaints that were issues for US and maybe are not for your family, but just enough to think we did not get the value-for-money for a supposedly four-star hotel.

A lovely hotel. Stunning around the reception area and atrium with real trailing plants. Our room was spacious and clean. Our balcony overlooked the pool area. Half board food was varied and tasty. Entertainment was very good. Staff very friendly.

The hotel is beautiful, not the best location but also not far from attractions, evening entertainment was very good, food ok and kids club was really good.

Hotel very nice clean and enjoyed the entertainment. area outside not so nice,black beach and noisy outside of hotel. food not so good, we also paid for all inclusive and were constantly told,can't have this and that.Made it very humiliateing and embarrassing stood at the bar.someone in front of me ordered a pina calada on all which looked amazing so asked if I could have 1. She got mine out of a machine ,in a small glass ,no trimmings,didn't even taste of anything,when I questioned it,they said that's what you get all Inc.I just left them on the bar and said that's not a pina calada.every trip to the bar was a nightmare spoilt our holiday.staff not helpful either. The snacks were awful. Staff stood chatting we wiped our own tables down.the only thing that looked nice was a club sandwich, but guess what.not allowed on all-inclusive 😡 Shame as hotel is lovely, just got lots of issues.
