Nice hotel, pools are good, food is AWFUL

Hotel generally nice and clean. Rooms are decent and the bathrooms are good. The pools are good and get really warm. Food purchased from the snack bar was decent. The biggest let down of the hotel is the food. The restaurant is definitely not 4 star - if you go really early or really late to the meal times the food is still stale like it’s been reheated. Never anything new or different. Very limited fruit options. Completely randomly presented and almost like there’s been no thought paid to pairing dishes, eg not one item to compliment the other. The waiting staff were generally miserable and do not rush to help you at all like other hotels, act as though you’re asking for a limb if you’re asking for something such as a small tea spoon. Reception staff - some were helpful, others couldn’t be bothered to speak to you. If you want to live off chicken nuggets and chips for lunch and dinner every day you’ll be fine. Otherwise you’ll want to eat out.

Hotel Troya, Las Americas – A Hidden Gem by the Beach

WOW, WOW, WOW ! I stayed at Hotel Troya in Las Americas in March 2025 and couldn’t have asked for a better location. Just steps from the beach and right next to my favourite Northern Soul bar, The Night Owl, it’s perfectly placed for both relaxation and nightlife. Veronicas strip is just around the corner, and you’re spoiled for choice with fantastic restaurants nearby. The food at the hotel is excellent, with plenty of variety, and the rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable – a great standard all around. In the evenings, I like to unwind by taking my metal detector down to the sand and usually end up collecting enough lost Euros to treat myself to a pint. A great stay, I'm back there in October

A week's stay

We just spent a week here, the hotel was fabulous. We couldn't fault the staff here, the reception team were all very helpful, if we ever needed a taxi they would sort one out for us. The food was really good, the breakfast was pretty much the same every morning, lunch time was okay had all your salads and your normal stuff, they always had fresh pasta dishes cooking at the front, same with the meats they had show cooking where they were cooking all sorts of meats to order i.e. steak, pork steaks, chicken, lamb chops and also chicken satay on skewers, they also had a fish station next to it that did a range of fish from Tilapia, dog fish, stoker, prawns, squid, salmon, tuna. Overall we thought the dinner service was the best, the only thing we've never experienced before was you couldn't help yourself to any drinks the waiters would come round and ask for your room key and they will swipe it and ask what drinks you would like. We thought it was because they only offer full board, half board and all inclusive here. Also they do offer a range of snacks at the bar at certain times which is good if you are at the pool and don't want to get change and go into the main restaurant. The rooms were very clean and very spacious, we didn't even pay for a sea view and we got a lovely sea and pool view, there were other complaints from other guest saying the beds were uncomfortable but we thought they were really comfortable. The only downside to our room was the shower, the temperatures were all over the place, one minutes it would be freezing and then would be scolding hot so be careful when using the shower. One other thing which was a little off putting was the smell of cannabis on the hotel floors, we stayed on the 5th floor and the last 4 of the days there was a strong smell of it which was off putting. The location of the hotel is perfect for people wanting a bit of the nightlife, and its opposite the beach which is great, there's loads of restaurants and little supermarkets all around the hotel. There was great perfume shop literally just outside the hotel, which done some really good deals on perfumes and stuff. The hotel was really good and we defiantly enjoyed our stay here and we defiantly recommend people to check it out. We flew with Jet2 and booked it through Jet2 Holidays.

Clean hotel and rooms

Give the restaurant a miss, not enough time to tell you what’s wrong but don’t bother with the board, pool area good for daily entertainment evening entertainment average, very clean hotel and located opposite beach but close to Veronica’s Bars do not take money but is billed to room, 4 star but no complimentary safe it comes at cost, once key handed in on day of departure you are seen as history with no drink or food even if you are a evening departure Complained to Jet2 but went into a black hole with not even a response

Love the Troya Hotel

This is our 3rd visit, absolutely love this hotel. Everything from the room to the food, pool area, location and staff are great. A big shout out to Juan and Oscar on reception who helped in any way possible. Oscar for helping us with our cases up to the Troya ramp dor the coach and Juan is always happy to help. We will be back soon.
