This hotel enjoys one of the nicest locations in Waikiki, close to shopping, Kapiolani Park and near to all local sights. It lies directly across the street from world-famous Waikiki Beach, a 20-minute drive from Hanauma Bay and half an hour by car from Pearl Harbor. Some rooms offer a spectacular view of the ocean, Diamond Head and the city. All rooms are equipped with a mini-fridge, a room safe and a lanai. They all come with a private bathroom, a satellite/ cable TV and Internet access. Furthermore, a king-size or double bed and individually adjustable air conditioning are provided as standard. Adjoining rooms are also available. The hotel features a large 24-hour gym, 2 tennis courts and an open-air lap pool. Guests may also relax in the solarium or take advantage of the spa treatments. Effective October 15, 2021, 'Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, will be requiring all employees, hotel guests and patrons to show proof of vaccination to access the hotel's facilities, dining and event venues. All new and existing reservations arriving on or after October 15, 2021 will require registered hotel guests and occupants to provide proof of full vaccination upon check-in. We just returned from a fantastic stay at the Alohilani Resort on Waikiki Beach and highly recommend it! The hotel has a modern, fresh vibe and the staff are friendly and welcoming—they really seem to go out of their way to make guests feel at home. Our room was spotless, had super comfortable beds, and the view from the balcony was absolutely breathtaking. The infinity pool overlooking Waikiki Beach is the highlight: a fantastic place to relax and watch the sunset with a cocktail in hand. There are lots of great restaurants in the resort and nearby, and we particularly enjoyed the variety of international and Hawaiian cuisine. The location is unbeatable: right in front of the beach, with shops and restaurants all around. We really appreciated being able to walk everywhere. Overall, a wonderful experience with great service and a perfect mix of luxury and island charm. We would definitely choose the Alohilani again for a stay in Honolulu!

Very noisy hotel, with wafer thin windows allowing all noise from street and pool bar into room. Not sure how its rated 5 stars on most booking sites as its a 3 maybe a 4 max. Pool bar had private function both nights of my stay with tickets available to guests but tickets were sold out. Noise from bar continued until 11pm both nights.

Mostly great with minimal hiccups

Wonderful staff that definitely expressed the Aloha spirit. Only annoyance was the first three days there, there was maintenance going on that we could hear drilling really loud from so we kinda avoided our room during the day. The other thing was the room was exactly clean, as we threw away garbage when we got into the room from prior guests that was stuck under the bed skirt

Disappointing Experience Despite Promising Start

A few days before our arrival, I received an email from the hotel asking if we were celebrating a special occasion. I replied that we were celebrating a birthday and received a kind response from Davin Uyeda, the Guest Experience Coordinator, promising complimentary amenities including champagne and cookies. Unfortunately, the follow-through fell short. I had to ask multiple times before the cookies were finally delivered, and the champagne never arrived. At one point, the front desk seemed unaware of the promise altogether. When we arrived after 3 PM — the standard check-in time — our room still wasn’t ready. We were told the wait could be anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. During our stay, the bathroom light began to flicker. I reported it to the front desk, but no one ever came to fix it. Additionally, housekeeping did not service our room on the second day, and by 8 PM, no one had arrived. Overall, what started as a thoughtful gesture quickly turned into a series of disappointments. This experience did not meet expectations, especially for a special occasion.
