Average but a decent experience for the price

Id like to start off with the negatives before the positives, this is based on a 2 week experience with me and my girlfriend Negatives: When we first arrived it was pretty easy to understand how rude many of the guests were here, mostly the elderly guests in massive groups. Just because one of their friends is in the bar queue they feel entitled for another 5 of them to push in and take their order as well, best to intervene like I had to once as 7 tried to push in at once. The elderly also seem to have no personal space whatsoever in the blue restaurant and will try everything to push in and even try to push you out of the way. The restaurant for families was better as it seemed even the children had better manners than this! The food can be repetitive and we understand this may be because we have stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks but the themed nights aren’t the best. The food is also best at average. Lack of bars, there’s 2 bars one inside and one outside, this causes massive queues sometimes especially with the pushing in elders but if you time it right you’ll be fine The positives: Spacious rooms! We even questioned if it was even too big, nice and modern and we were very happy with how clean it always was thanks to the maids! The staff were lovely they always had a smile on and were fast to help you and sort out anything you needed The hotel is close to the town of alvor which is absolutely beautiful, full of bars and restaurants for when you get bored of the food at the hotel😅. And lastly we were surprised by how many sunbeds that are available at the hotel. Even after a morning out you can still get a sunbed. Overall we loved this holiday and we would come back to alvor as it is such a beautiful part of Portugal, however we would probably go to another hotel in the future.

A wonderful week!

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at the RR Alvor Baia resort and we are already planning our return. Every member of staff was absolutely brilliant and so accommodating. By the end of the week staff had remembered names, favourite ice cream flavour for my daughter and our usual drink order which just made the holiday even better. The hotel was impeccably clean everywhere at all times. Food was varied and all delicious. The entertainment was constant but not overwhelming which was lovely. The rooms are looking slightly tired but nothing that would detract from having a wonderful holiday.

Great hotel. Comfortable beds with big fluffy pillows and room was large. Big balcony too. Food good and the pool was the biggest I have ever seen, cold at first but okay once in. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the staff very helpful and accommodating. Free bus service to beach but it would have been nice to serve town too. 4 euros for cab into town but it is walkable too. Not bad. Would definitely be back.

Fantastic Family Holiday - May Half Term.

We had a brilliant stay at Alvor Baia. We had 10 nights. Travelled as a group of 7 with two children under 10 and a wheelchair user. Large, clean rooms with plenty of space and a roomy balcony. Cleaned thoroughly daily with fresh towels. Water refillable from water stations. Enormous pool, with plenty of beds. We never had to reserve even through the Half Term week. Inflatables available to buy in on site shop or can bring your own. Great fun! Pool bar, busy at times but, well managed by friendly staff. A range of drinks including cocktails. Premium bar available that is not part of AI available inside with beautiful range of drinks if you prefer, but normal bar good. Food - two restaurants blue and green. Green is for families and the blue is for over 12’s. We had children so used the green but the blue was a more peaceful experience. Two BBQ nights per week; lovely meat, fish and Portuguese food grilled. Recommend. On the whole, food very good! Breakfasts excellent, lunch really good. Snack bar, inside the hotel. 4pm - open for ice creams and sweet treats/burgers/hot dogs etc. 15 min walk to the town down the hill, lovely place. Lots of little shops, cobbled streets and restaurants. Harbour is pretty. Beach - 15 min walk or free shuttle bus from hotel. Go to the beach! Blue waters, golden sands. Water sports etc. Faro Airport - incredibly busy on arrival. Be prepared to wait for passport control. Bus transfer approx 1 hour 30. Private taxi 50mins. Excellent holiday, would definitely return! Great value for money and really pleasant staff.
