Official Description

This hotel is centrally located beside one of the most beautiful beaches in Aruba. It is approximately 5 minutes from the centre of Oranjestad and some 15 minutes from Reina Beatrix airport. The high-rise area with shops, restaurants, and casinos is a short walk from the establishment. Constructed in Dutch colonial style in 1989, the beach hotel comprises a total of 72 spacious and air-conditioned studios and suites with 1 or 2 bedrooms. The Dutch architect Jan Hubert designed the building, which is generously laid out, and offers a cosy inner courtyard, as well as breath-taking sea views. Within the complex, leisure options include a swimming pool with a waterfall, and cocktail or theme parties with live entertainment, also take place occasionally.

It is very hard to find a hotel that isn’t a high rise in Aruba that accepts kids. The resort in itself has so much potential. The location is great and the staff are very friendly. They helped us to rent a car and answer questions we had during our stay. I saw many comments on the smell before reserving so we were aware of the problem and it is a shame because it’s probably the only downer. Some days were fine and it wasn’t too strong and others were worse. Since you’re not always at the hotel it’s not a big deal but when you want to hang out at the pool or eat a meal at the lounge it’s the only eek. That being said, if you can get over it like we did, this hotel has great prices compared to other places and we would prefer to stay here than in a big concrete hotel complex. Our 1 bedroom villa was clean and spacious and the kitchen was equiped with everything you need.

I don’t recommend this resort. It is next to a waste treatment plant and stank every day. The paid breakfast was actually prepaying a set amount from the menu, if you spent over - you paid more, if you spent less they kept your money. At 3pm the hotel starts setting up their beach side dining making the beach unusable unless you want staff and the clatter of tables and crockery all around you. Give it a miss - I’m sure there are plenty of better options

Nice stay with beach outside your door!

The hotel was what we expected and the convenience of having the beach right outside our front door of the resort was excellent. The room we had was a newly renovated manor studio and it was nice inside. The only thing that was not pleasant was the sewage smell everyday outside on the property. And sometimes you could smell it over by the beach, but if you walked about 3 minutes down there was no smell. Amsterdam Manor you have to fix this, it’s not ok. Passions by the beach was also nice and overall our stay was amazing! Julio was really nice when checking us out. Lauren was one of the Jamaican ladies I bumped in to on my 2nd day, and she was also really nice. I will definitely recommend this resort.
