Annabella Diamond Hotel & Spa

We discovered this hotel through a friend who works there, and it has since become our second home whenever we visit the region. This area, nestled between Alanya and Side/Manavgat, offers an abundance of natural beauty and historical sites to explore. However, since we spend most of our time travelling around Turkiye, our stays at the hotel are truly our moments to relax and recharge. We don’t seek luxury; rather, we value warmth and cosiness. The hotel’s compact layout means everything is easily accessible, which is perfect for our family of four. Our kids spend hours enjoying the pool, the slides, and the beach, while I make it a point to take a morning stroll along the shore, especially as the sun sets at the end of the day. The Turkish hamam followed by a massage is a must; this time, I was treated by a wonderful Balinese therapist, and we had a delightful conversation about the fondness Australians have for Bali. Reflecting on my time in the tourism industry in Turkiye decades ago, I note how all-inclusive hotels have become the norm. The advantage is that you can check in and leave the world behind, enjoying a continuous supply of food and drink throughout the day. Given the diverse mix of guests, the variety of options is impressive. However, the downside of all-inclusive service is that it can discourage guests from venturing out and experiencing the local attractions. Fortunately, since we have family living in the region, we’ve had ample opportunities to explore everything the area offers. I truly appreciate the cosy atmosphere of the hotel. The entertainment team organizes activities every morning around the pool or beach and provides evening shows at the amphitheatre. The staff are incredibly friendly and approachable, which enhances the welcoming vibe. One of the charming highlights here is the presence of cats, as is common throughout Turkiye. They are well-loved, cared for, and often named by the staff and guests alike. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself sharing a couch in the lobby with one while sipping your coffee!
