The Apollon Hotel truly is a hidden gem. It offers everything you’d expect from an all-inclusive stay, with warm hospitality, great facilities, and a relaxing atmosphere – though there are a few areas that could use a little fine-tuning. Arrival & First Impressions We arrived at the hotel around 10pm and were greeted with a warm welcome by the receptionist, who gave us a full rundown of the hotel and directions to our room. Since we had missed dinner, we were pleasantly surprised to find two wraps each and a bottle of water waiting for us in the room – a thoughtful gesture that really hit the spot before bed. Facilities Our room was spacious and modern, with a beautiful en suite. One small downside: the beds were two singles pushed together on wheels (this might vary depending on the room), and they tended to slide apart with the slightest movement – not ideal. We had a pool view, which was stunning and absolutely worth it. The pool itself was perfect – refreshing in the June heat, with plenty of sunbeds available. Even arriving around midday on some days, we still found great spots without any stress or hassle. Food & Drink Breakfast was the same each morning, but offered a generous variety of sweet and savoury options, so there was always something to enjoy. Dinner was different every night, featuring a range of international cuisines, which kept things interesting. One thing to note: we’d read that guests could dine at the sister hotel, Apollon Windmill, for an à la carte meal. However, when we asked at reception, we were told this came at an extra cost. It would be a nice added touch if one à la carte dinner were included as part of the all-inclusive package to add a bit of variety. A small extra thing with the all inclusive restaurant, we found ourselves having to use the same cutlery if we use to go up for more food. If there was a station to grab fresh cutlery that would be good! Drinks were generally good, but the cocktail list was quite limited. Additional options would’ve been appreciated, as the same drinks became repetitive over time. Cocktails outside the set menu ranged from €8–€12. Personally, I think frozen cocktails would be a fantastic addition – just a suggestion! Location The hotel is well-located, about a 25-minute walk from Kos Town or just 10 minutes by bike - and you even get a voucher on arrival for discounted bike hire. There are lovely beaches nearby, and you’re guaranteed sunshine on every sunbed! Activities There’s a gym and tennis court available. The gym costs €5 for an hour, but you get the space to yourself (per room booking), and it’s fully equipped. While the fee is minor, it would be nice if it were included or at least a bit cheaper. The tennis court is free, though the racquets could do with an upgrade – but that’s just a small detail. Final Thoughts Overall, I had a fantastic experience. The hotel is clean, modern, and relaxing, with excellent customer service. While there’s room for a few improvements, I can really see the potential for the Apollon to become even better. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a chilled, enjoyable getaway!
