Large resort, very well maintained and gardens kept tidy, some slight contours (managable), lifts to floors of apartments. Stayed in Asteris side of resort, upgraded upon arrival to junior suite for wedding anniversary and wine and fruit in room (lovely touch). Room very nice, usb sockets, nespresso machine, A/c powerful, bed very comfy (2 singles together), spotless, good shower and toiletries provided daily and cleaned well daily. Stayed mainly around Asteris pool as seemed slightly more "adult"- although very quiet due to mid Sept. Pool towel/ bar service at Asteris with the dynamic duo good and very friendly service, their teamwork is worth mentioning 👏, not full capacity due to wind down and you could get a sunbed pretty much wherever you wanted to sit,we were A.Incl. and felt slightly disappointed and in some ways felt worse of, reason being half board guests seemed to get better service in particular at the bars of an evening, AI had premixed bottles with cocktails (okish mixes) where as "paying HB guests" had int.branded made cocktails and larger beers and it felt a little out of sorts noticing HB guests had more focus from waiting staff and there was a delayed response to AI guests, this was also the same when going to the bar to bypass the longer wait, just spoilt the vibe a little and seemed at odds. Evening entertainment, on a wind down and only keyboard and singer at one bar seen (same routine) a few days apart- not good, shame as the resort (apart from a few beach bars nr xi beach approx 500m away) is remote, would have liked to seen a little more things on, as opposed to going into Lixouri (13 euros one way, bus 2 euros last use 3.15pm). Food at main restaurant always cooked well and fresh salads well presented and tasty, not huge variety but always something to eat (as others have mentioned), would benefit from themed nights, didn't see much in the way of "show cooking", as listed as to the definition of this, yes chefs behind stations were cooking items and topping up things like chicken and risotto but they where grilling and stirring pots etc. Pizzas were good and tasty, small selection for desserts, fresh fruit and help yourself ice cream all nice. We did venture to the Italian (reservation rqd) alacarte and food was ok and service ok, but to be honest felt main restaurant was just as good and it didn't "feel special" as limted if using the aI voucher although pasta ragu tasty. Breakfasts and lunch sessions were good and the snack bar nice change for lunches with wraps etc. We didn't use the waterpark but will be nice for kids big and small with small bar and toilets (toilets always immaculate across the site during our stay). Wife had a massage-enjoyed this. Reception staff helpful and informative. Hired a car for 3 days from Mercury just outside the hotel, great to see the other areas of a beautiful island, Myrtos beach, Assos, Fiskardo, Sami, Argostoli etc-able to take on the ferry to cut journey time less than 10euros per trip with 2 persons. The crunch question.....would we stay here again, possibly but not a definite yes and not a definite no, a lovely relaxing resort that ticks a lot of boxes, just not all for us.
