Arinara Bangtao Beach Resort

This is a poor hotel with little management. The rooms: disgusting and mouldy, paint flaking off the walls, shower broken on arrival and filthy. Grouting missing from bathroom fixtures, the balcony doors do not even fully shut leaving a big gap, also the swim up pool was disgusting and fllthy, looked onto broken air conditioning units and wiring not a garden view in sight. We had 3 rooms and we were all disappointed as this was not a cheap hotel. Also the rooms are noisy from all angles especially the dark dingy corridors the house the rooms. There are major reservation works going on which was not communicated when I booked the hotel. The location the hotel is terrible and the area is one big building site, with people living in squaller within 3 minute walk if the hotel, the beach is like a rubbish tip and is run down with local, run down sheds, and people selling overpriced chap, it's pretty disgusting, if you had arrived at any other location in the world you would be devastated!! The hotel swimming pools are disgusting and falling to peices in all areas, even with fungus growing on the stairs to the kids slides.These areas are not fit for purpose and are just poor management, similar to the rooms, people are just not doing there jobs! The hotel is over priced and the pool bar is a joke,it should not be open even, it's really false advertising as a place of holiday. The hotel needs to be shut, and refurbished around pool areas, and the work around the hotel is even noisier than the hotel, the area is going to be under major construction for some time to come, i would head somewhere else but you are booking anything. There are more negatives to this place but I think that would just look rude, and unfair on the happy lively staff we encountered, also the sunsets are lovely if the weather is ok. The local bars do serve good food, which is reasonably priced, and there was some fun stuff to do in the area. I spent a week in another resort as part of this trip, and it was everything I was looking for in Thialand, this place is a bad advert, and unless you are looking to smoke marajawana all day, look else where. This hotel has so much potential because of the beautiful location on the beach, but it's needs a renovation to the rooms and the pool area. The roofs outside and the pool area were dirty, which definitely took away from the vibe of having a luxury vacation in Thailand. Also another thing I did not like were the extra charges. If you misplace your plastic hotel key they charge you $500 baht which is around $15 usd which is ridiculous. Also you have to wear a rubber bracelet when you are at the pool so they know you are a guest there and if you misplace that it's also another $500 baht. We were a family of 5 with 2 rooms so I was constantly try to make sure everyone had there bracelets and room keys. I agree with some of the other reviews regarding the front desk staff. They were not friendly or accommodating . At check in we asked if we could get late check out in at least one of our rooms and was told no. So later on I checked with a different staff member and they were able to accommodate us. Of course we had to pay which was I expected but I guess the first person we asked just couldn't be bothered. When I booked this hotel I was hesitant because of the mixed reviews. I wish I would have booked somewhere else.

From Room 5110 – My family booked the Pool Access category. Unfortunately, the pool water was not circulating, leaving it dirty and covered with bird feathers. About 5–10 minutes after checking in, I took pictures of the pool and informed the receptionist who had checked us in, requesting to move to another room since we hadn’t used anything yet. She refused, saying all Pool Access rooms were fully booked, and her manner was unfriendly and unhelpful. This attitude upset me even more than the dirty pool itself. When we asked if it might be possible to move the next day, she did not check availability, attempt to resolve the issue, or offer an apology. Instead, she simply suggested sending housekeeping and engineering to inspect the pool, speaking with an impolite expression. On the positive side, the public swimming pools are large and offer enjoyable activities for the kids. The bar staff at the beach club are also friendly and welcoming.

The second you walk into Arinara beach resort Phuket you feel exploited and instantly disappointed with the over charging and poor service. Small beer 180 (AU$9). Pizza 690 (AU$35). Pool lounge 2000 min spend at your own hotel. The list goes on. Facilities are 3 star at best which makes the over charging so hard to tolerate. I would be fine with the facilities if prices matched. Koh samui was much better. Do not come here.

Lovely hotel and lovely food. But They were renovating rooms in the hotel which we weren’t notified about until we arrived. The noise went on from 8am until 5pm every day. Drilling, banging, sawing. It actually spoilt our holiday. Had I known this in advance i would if changed my hotel. Im sure this work could of been done in low season
