We spent weeks trying to figure out which of the (mostly) small hotels in Oia to book. The pictures on Agoda, and often the hotel websites didn’t always make clear what room/view you’re getting, which matters a lot in this place. We ended up booking the Honeymoon Suite in Armeni Luxury Villas which is essentially a compact cluster of five or so rooms. They all have nice sea views but the Honeymoon Suite offers the best view west towards Oia Castle, together with views of the three domes probably the best view you can get (we found the “sunset side” with the two windmills to be a little less pretty). The hotel is about 30 steps down from the main pedestrian street which by Oia standards is great. The hotel arranged a transfer from the port and our luggage was hauled down. All in all about five minutes from the post office. The room itself is like a small apartment and apart from Wifi (which is slow across Oia), all amenities were nice (just expect some character rather than a brand new looking place). We filled out our breakfast preferences and ate on the terrace every morning. Morning time is also busy with people checking in and out, cleaning, etc. with the management office right above the Honeymoon Suite. The team is at work every day until about 2-3pm but can be reached via WhatsApp afterwards. The terrace, like almost everywhere else in Oia, isn’t all that private with lots of tourists looking down from different spots higher up. The views - which attract so many visitors - however easily make up for this. We had four great days in Oia, thought the price was good value and can definitely recommend this room in this hotel.
