Art Hotel Debono

Just returned from the most relaxing week at this hotel. The staff make it special - they will do everything they can to ensure you have the best holiday. I was particularly taken with the lovely scent that was sprayed on our bed covers every day which helped us drift off to sleep each night - such a nice touch! The whole complex is spotless and has a wonderful smell as soon as you walk into reception. The pool area always had plenty of very comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas and towels are provided for use at the pool. There is a pool bar where you can get a drink and a meal with a varied menu. We stayed half board and the food did not disappoint - always a varied choice for breakfast and dinner and the food from the BBQ did not disappoint! We stayed in an annexe room which was actually as far away from the main building as you could get but it was well worth the walk up the hill as it was so peaceful with lavender and rosemary growing right outside the balcony and is set amongst the olive trees. It had a lovely view of the sea and mountains. The air con was a life saver as temps were high 30's as is the fridge for keeping drinks cool. Our room (319) had a separate bedroom and the bed was the most comfortable (and biggest!) I have ever slept in with comfortable pillows. My young adult had a bed made up in the lounge area and that too was larger than a normal sofa bed and was very comfortable. There were sun loungers, 3 comfy chairs and a small table on the terrace. Entertainment is low key which suits the ambience of this hotel. It was nice to see the Friday night Greek dancers again (first saw them 10 years ago so not sure if they were the same ones!) and there was a singer one evening who was excellent and sang during dinner. If you are looking for a place to relax and de-stress then this is the place for you. Whilst Gouvia might not be everyone's cup of tea it has a good supermarket at the end of the road outside the hotel and several touristy shops and bars/places to eat. The bus stop is about 10 minutes walk and you can buy tickets from reception. This is my third visit to this hotel and am looking forward to coming back again in the future.

Fabulous hotel in a quiet yet convenient location. We stayed in a bungalow junior suite which was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The room and indeed the whole hotel was very comfortable,very clean and well maintained. There was a good selection of food which was of a high quality replenished frequently therefore it was fresh and plentiful. There staff are amazing!! The owner should be proud of them.

Hotel and all surrounding areas ie pool, rooms, communal areas always spotless and pristine. We had a bungalow and it was ever so comfortable and again spotless. Bed and bedding including pillows very comfortable and beds were huge and husband was miles away when we slept which was fab! It was low 30s and very hot and humid when we were there but air con both in the hotel and our room was so efficient and lovely. Food selection each evening was good and catered for all although we walked into gouvia itself to the restaurants there a couple of times just for a change. Breakfast selection good too although only thing with breakfast food was it could be hotter it was barely warm but literally that is the only thing we would make a suggestion on to the hotel. Staff were efficient and courteous always. If late checkout needed you can store luggage safely and they allow you to shower before you leave at no additional cost. We got the bus twice into Corfu town - you can buy bus tickets from reception at a slightly reduced price or pay bus driver €5 for 2 adults 1 way so not too bad. GOUVIA itself is a 10 min stroll from hotel there is nothing close to hotel so unless you’re staying on site all of the time you would need to stroll but check with reception if you need a taxi to take you down to there or back as to price as another couple knew he went around the houses to bring them back so agree a price before you get in and ask reception what price is acceptable. however hotel was immaculate and the decor was absolutely stunning throughout. We are sad to be leaving!

Loved this hotel. Hotel and grounds all areas were spotless. Beds are really comfortable. Food excellent and staff very helpful. Entertainment 3 times a week. Taxi into Gouvia €10.00. Bus to Corfu town and around €1.60 tickets from reception .
