Just got back from a wonderful stay (Aug 25) with my 16yr old son. Highlights: - Amazing food. So much choice and everything labelled for those with allergies. Loved the baklava, honeycomb, fish, fruit, salad and desserts. Lots of staff and no queues. - We were all inclusive and mainly ate in the Achilles main restaurant. We found this restaurant had more choice at lunchtime than Argo. - The staff worked extremely hard and ensured there was lots of variety, plates were cleared, there was plenty of food, it was clean. The management need to consider short sleeved shirts for staff, who were so hot, but maintained such a high standard. They never moaned but it was visible how hot they were. - Pools were clean and large. Allowed inflatables and ball games, which provided lots of enjoyment. Lifeguards there all day. - sun beds available around main pool until about 11am. A few different pools and the beach so lots of beds. Parasols with every pair of beds too, which was great as shade was needed. Pool towels provided and could be changed. - Water polo, aqua aerobics, darts, ping pong and football happened daily. These were ran by amazing staff, who really made my son’s stay more enjoyable. Big shout out to Marco and Giuliano, who were fantastic during waterpolo and always said hi! - Beach area was lovely, very shallow for quite a way out. Views of other islands in distance. - Double room had lots of storage and plenty of room. Clean and well stocked mini bar with a bottle of wine and bottles of water. - Grounds were kept well and lots of flowers. - AI guests get 1 free evening meal per 7 days at Argo restaurant. This consists of 4 courses and was delicious. Few negatives: - WiFi was quite sporadic in our room and at the pool, which meant you couldn’t get into the app, order drinks from beds or use it at times. - There isn’t anything within walking distance from the resort, so it’s quite isolated. You can get a bus to Kos Town for 2€ each way pp, which takes about 15 mins from the road outside the hotel. We had planned to visit nearby Tigaki beach but there is an issue with taxis in Kos, so was told they could be delayed by 30mins/ 1hr+. A private transfer would cost 30€ each way. A bus there would require a bus to Kos town and then another bus to Tigaki, taking about an hour. Exploring the island is therefore a bit of a task or quite expensive. - There weren’t many English families there or teens, so my son didn’t meet others the same age. Mainly German families at the resort. Overall a really enjoyable holiday. Friendly and hard working staff, and the resort felt very safe. My son liked using the gym and we watched a couple of the shows.
