We recently stayed here for a week in a pool access Aston Suite. It was our 7th visit to Bali but first staying here. Check in was very fast and they let us into the room early as our flight had arrived at 9am. Check in is normally 2pm onwards but we got in about 11am. While we waited they gave us a cold glass of juice and we lounged by the pool. Reception staff were lovely and Julia was amazing for a chit chat and information about Nyepi which was on while we were there. The room was clean and tidy on arrival and was cleaned everyday with new towels available as needed. From the photos I was expecting more of a kitchen such as a microwave and toaster plus utensils and glassware but there was nothing other than a very small bar fridge and a kettle so that was a little disappointing. The bed was very hard for me personally, but my husband LOVED it and slept like a log every night. We had a buffet breakfast included in our fare and it was plentiful and very nice. An array of dishes from Indian, Japanese and Indonesian plus toast, cereals, eggs made to order, cold meats and cheeses, pastries and breakfast desserts plus coffee, tea and a choice of juices. Open 6:30am - 10am daily. The restaurant staff were amazing! Kristina and Widia specifically treated us like family. I even received a slice of my favourite cake delivered to our room on my birthday with a candle and a rendition of Happy Birthday to you! So lovely and thoughtful. The grounds are nice but lack gardens around the main pool area. The space just doesn't allow for it but there are lush gardens at the very back of the hotel. Having said that, it does mean there aren't many mozzies that live in the garden beds which is great! The location is fantastic. Far enough away from the busy areas to be relaxing but a 15 min walk and you can be at 2 huge shopping malls, many MANY restaurants and bars, Kuts Square, Kuta Art Markets, the beach, supermarkets etc. Within 50 meters you can get a massage, a tattoo, a great fancy Starbucks style coffee, cheap Bintang, really cheap food, "designer" bags and sunglasses, dresses, tank tops... everything Bali is all about. PLUS you can get your washing done across the road for a few dollars. We always do this before we leave Bali so when we get home we unpack clean clothes. We would be happy to stay again and we probably will next time we go to Bali.
