Situated at the most privileged location of Fira, on the cliffs of the caldera with unlimited views to the famous volcano, the sunset and the whole island, only a few steps away from the centre of Fira, but still with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, this hotel is the place to stay in Santorini. It is only 15-minute drive to Santorini (Thira) International Airport. Renovated in 2019 with exclusive materials, minimal design, upgraded services and rich amenities for those who want to enjoy privacy, high class services, comfort and luxury, always with this majestic scenery from every spot of the hotel. The bar-restaurant is open all day serving delicious dishes and signature cocktails. The spa is open also all day offering body and faces therapies, make up, hair styling and more. The heated infinity pool with the pool bar in the water is the place to spend most of your day enjoying amazing cocktails combined with the unlimited caldera and sunset views. **Note** for winter 2020 season: Our hotel wil remain open from the 1st of November 2020 'till the 15th of January 2021 for the 2020 winter season but with some facilites not operational. Our bar, restuarant and room serivce will remain inactive for the whole winter period, our swimming pool will remain full but not heated as temperatures go low and cannot keep the water warm, and finally our spa facilites are not working in-house but we can always arrange a massage therapy in your suite. Santorini is a gorgeous place even in the winter!”

Blown away by the whole experience of Athina..!!

My wife and I arrived at Athina Luxury Suites for a 5 day mini honeymoon and were blown away by the amazing view of the Caldera and the lovely warm welcome of all the staff at this stunning hotel and it just got better and better and better. From the complimentary chilled bottle of Rosé that we enjoyed on the private terrace to the amazing toasted club sandwich delivered by room service and all done using a private WhatsApp group that reception setup on arrival and worked flawlessly. Our room, right by the gorgeous heated pool and sunken pool bar run by the friendly Stella, was just right. Cool, comfortable and well kitted with great Aircon and a really comfortable bed. The following morning, whilst taking in the fantastic view of the cruise ships we enjoyed our first delicious alfresco breakfast which exceeded our expectations on reading the reviews... fabulous start to the day which was repeated to the same standard on each of our 5 glorious days. The staff went above and beyond our expectations and it really was easy to see how the hotel had achieved such high accolades in previous years. It's a glorious base to explore Santorini which we would absolutely recommend and hope to revisit in the future. You won't be disappointed, we weren't. All the best. Simon and Lucinda Yates.

Surrounded by Beauty

We are not sure where to begin. We were in shock when we arrived to see the beauty of this location. To wake up in the morning and sit outside and look at the caldera was an amazing view. The hospitality was excellent from when we checked in to when we left. We met Fiori who was just wonderful. He brought our food to the room, waited on us at the restaurant and made us feel so comfortable. The food was excellent. Once you opened the door to your room, you were amazed. So easy to walk to the different locations from the Suites.

A Quirky Experience in Santorini

Athina Luxury Suites is a beautiful hotel, with suites that are well-suited for an enjoyable stay and spectacular views of the sea, and very pleasant staff, just what one would expect from Santorini. Having said that, though, there were gaps in service that made the stay there far less than it should have been for such as highly regarded hotel. This may be due to the fact that we were there so early in the season (the very beginning of March) that many on the staff were new and not sufficiently trained to pay attention to details. We feel an obligation to future visitors to identify some of these gaps so they can perhaps be avoided. Examples: Suite location: When we arrived, we were told that our suite had been upgraded. Notwithstanding that I was quite clearly walking with a cane due to knee problems, we were not told that the suite was four or five levels down the side of a steep cliff until we started the descent, which to me felt endless. Had the staff been more attentive (i.e., saw that I was evidently walking with a cane), they might have warned us of the challenge in accessing the room and suggested an alternative. As a result of the location, and my knee problem, we left the suite only one time a day. (Note – we knew there would be stairs to manage, but not as many as we in fact experienced.) Hot tub: One of the benefits of the upgrade was our own private hot tub, which seemed to be a saving grace for having to go down, and up, so many steps given the location of the suite. But, first, the hot tub wasn’t hot. We were told it was set for 95 degrees F. It clearly was not. Second, the jets turned off at less than 2 minute intervals. Repeatedly. We were told that was how they worked and couldn’t be changed. Really? Result: having endured the descent to the suite, during our stay we were only able to use the hot tub for about 6 minutes (3 cycles -- hoping it would get warmer). Breakfasts: Another benefit was to be able to have breakfast in our room. For the first morning we requested vegetable omelets on the order slip, and were served ham omelets. We don’t eat ham. We chose not to make an issue. But we didn’t eat them. For the second morning, we specifically filled out the breakfast request form emphasizing vegetable omelets. And received ham omelets again. This time we made them exchange them. For the third morning, we again specifically filled out the breakfast request slip, asking this time for pancakes….and received omelets again. Seriously. At least they were vegetable, not ham. It was not clear that the order slips themselves were shared with the kitchen.
