Five star?

31 Oct 2025
A five-star hotel. Maybe when it comes to the quality of the rooms and food in the Agora restaurant. But definitely not when it comes to service. Two stars is too much. Two examples. A ten-minute wait for a glass of wine in the Angora restaurant. Ten people in line to get something to drink at the pool bar. One person at the cash register that everyone has to pass and one person who will mix drinks and call out who, after a long wait, will get what they ordered. Unworthy of a hotel that is supposed to be five-star. Reminded me of how it worked in the Soviet Union forty years ago. On top of that, the drinks were well watered down.

Nice but not 5 stars

30 Sep 2025
More like 4* than 5*. The staff were wonderful, the beach was incredible but then the decking was all over the place and I saw a few people trip and then I tripped, I fell on the sand and had cut my toe. The staff looked after me well after I’d hobbled up to reception and explained what had happened. I though they would have corrected it, but no the rest of the holiday I saw numerous people tripping and another person falling and guess what, cutting their toe. Now a cut toe is not the best thing to have on a beach holiday. The food was fine but not 5 star. We will not be returning, we’ll be going back to the Mitsis in Faliraki.

A relaxing stay with exceptional service

30 Sep 2025
A heartfelt thank you to Atlantica Imperial for making our stay truly relaxing and memorable. We originally booked a standard swim up room in the main hotel, but to our delight, we were upgraded twice to a beautiful swim up duplex suite with Red Carpet service and sea views in the Residence. Nicole gave us a warm welcome, clearly explained the various amenities, and immediately made us feel at home. The suite was immaculate, with thoughtful touches such as Molton Brown soap dispensers for both hair and body wash. Housekeeping was excellent, with the room serviced twice daily, ensuring everything was always fresh and spotless. Our private sun terrace was generously sized, though, as others have noted, it did fall into shade by mid-afternoon. Of course, this is outside of the hotel’s control, and we made the most of it by relaxing on floats in the pool or heading to the Sky Bar, where sun loungers were often available, perfect for enjoying the last rays of the evening sun. Breakfast at Blue Bay was a particular highlight, available exclusively for Residence guests. Alongside a plentiful buffet, there was also an à la carte menu with high quality options, making each morning a pleasure. The calm atmosphere there set the perfect tone for the day. We also dined one evening at Blue Bay’s fine dining restaurant, which I would certainly recommend for a more relaxed and intimate experience. I have seen that they used to provide a lunch offering and wish they would reinstate this to continue the top quality experience. The main buffet restaurant offered plenty of variety for lunch and dinner, with quality generally very good. In the first few days, some of the vegetables were noticeably salt - even for someone who enjoys seasoned food - but this improved as the week went on. The street food/snack bar was also a welcome option for something quick and tasty. At dinner, the restaurant did feel busy and a little hectic at times, but this is to be expected in a popular all-inclusive resort. What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff. Every member of the team works incredibly hard, always with warmth and professionalism, and they go out of their way to make guests feel valued. This genuine hospitality is one of the main reasons we would return. The Sky Bar, while occasionally slow with service during peak times, was still an excellent spot to unwind in the evenings. The real standout of our stay, however, was Kiki. She is an absolute treasure and deserves the highest praise. I have never encountered a staff member so dedicated - managing the Sky Bar single-handedly during the day, preparing and serving every drink herself, always with a smile. When she wasn’t there, her absence was immediately felt. Her attentiveness and warm manner made every guest feel special. Saying goodbye to her was genuinely the hardest part of our holiday; she is, without doubt, a credit to this hotel. Overall, we wholeheartedly recommend Atlantica Imperial to anyone seeking a relaxing, stress-free escape. We are already looking forward to returning next year.

Return to Rhodes a little piece of paradise

I’m not sure where to start! All the positive reviews about the Imperial Residences mention the staff, cleanliness, accommodation, and location — and they’re right. It must be good; we’ve just returned from our 5th visit and already have our 6th booked! In fact, we booked it before our 5th stay, confident the Hotel would be as special as previous years — and we were not disappointed. We were fortunate to stay in a beautiful Suite with its own pool. While the Hotel is tranquil throughout, it felt like a privilege to relax in our own private space. We had a slight issue with the pool (a displaced drain cap) — quickly resolved with efficiency (Savvas joked he’d sent the Navy Seals to fix it!). Breakfast at the Imperial Residences is superb, with wonderful waiting staff. If you’re lucky, Kiki might make an appearance — thank you also to Irini, a quiet but very efficient lady. There’s a well-equipped gym on hand should you wish to burn off some of the excess calories, and a low-key activities schedule too. The only limitation is that the Residences don’t offer dinner onsite (except at the excellent Blue Bay à la Carte). Instead, you dine across the way at the main Hotel. I enjoy dressing for dinner, and since the pandemic the Hotel has relaxed the dress code. While many will welcome this, for me it’s changed the atmosphere — I prefer dinner to feel like a special occasion. As for the food itself, we found it to be of very high quality, plentiful, and varied. There’s always a small table of Greek dishes and one Greek evening each week. My personal preference would be for more Greek options, but overall, the variety is good. We dined at Mylos, where the food was excellent. Bruno and his colleagues are attentive without being intrusive, and make you feel truly welcome. Watch out for the digestif — I’m told it’s lethal! We also dined at Blue Bay, where the food was simply stellar (I’ve reviewed that separately). There are so many wonderful people working at both Hotels that it would be tedious to list them all, but I must thank the lovely ladies on Reception, Nicole and Maridania; our housekeeper Nika; Maria in Customer Relations; and of course, Kiki — who is just as lovely as lovely can be. Last but not least, it was lovely to meet Thanos, a charming fellow, it was great to see Thanasis still meeting and greeting and my good friend in the shop, Efithera. In summary: if you are considering a visit, book now!
