I’d booked my trip as a luxurious getaway just before the peak season, a chance to recharge and reset. What I hadn’t expected was quite how luxurious, personalised and relaxing the holiday would be. If, like myself, you’re more than used to doing everything for yourself then the wraparound hospitality at Atrium Palace might be an adjustment! Staff are so incredibly attentive and take note of the little things that make a big difference. Whether it’s the bar staff knowing exactly how you like your drinks, the restaurant servers and hosts making note of your tastes or favourite seat with a view, the pool staff checking in or all staff picking up on my solo travels as a woman and making sure I felt safe and looked after. There’s not a single complaint I could make of the staff, the hotel, the food or the luxuries that slip into the Atrium experience. I booked a land tour and a boat tour to explore the island and both exemplified the openness and warmth of everyone I met. The boat tour was so incredibly worth it (booked from the beach hut) and had the perfect mix of sail, swim and see to explore the parts of the island only traversable by water. The land tour highlighted the people, produce and geography of Rhodes- well worth the views and early rise! The reception staff helped me navigate to Rhodes city by bus for a self guided ramble of the new and old towns, far easier than a drive in a rented car or taxi. The food was all incredibly delicious and there was plenty of choice and cuisines across the buffet, a la carte and gourmet restaurants, I upgraded out on premium all inclusive from half board and it was more than worth it with trips to restaurants or bars simply a choice of what tickled my fancy rather than worrying about price. I’d suggest the all inclusive package and I made use of all of the included amenities, taking a trip to Atrium Platinum for a meal and taking in the views of Turkey across the sea. As a runner, but not one to run in blistering heat the gym was incredible for getting in a treadmill run, the spa pool offered a comfortable alternative to the plethora of pools dotted around the resort. The pools around the resort offer opportunities to relax with the pool bar’s playlist while reclining, or the sun beds closer to the kids club afford a quieter atmosphere, or the sun beds by the main bar and restaurant offer a view of the whole resort or the sun beds by the beach, the options are endless. Lucas at the beach ensured trip was smooth sailing, I was well taken care of and had the personal touch of chatting each day, I didn’t feel like a guest or customer but included more than that, something that felt so important and kind while traveling solo.
