Avaton Resort & Spa

On arrival we were met by friendly helpful staff and were made very welcome. Our luggage was taken down the hill to the hotel for us by the porter 👍 Cold guest towels were provided and a chilled glass of sparkling wine on check in ( great start ) When we got to our suite ( Avaton suite ) there was a complimentary bottle of Prosecco, chocolates and a basket of fresh fruit ( nice touch ) The warm indoor pool and jacuzzi was a great welcome addition after a long day walking. As the outdoor pool was a tad fresh for me at this time of year. The location is great, the sunsets superb and the views are stunning. A wonderful pre ordered breakfast was served to our suite every morning at a time we chose. There’s lots of restaurants in the area to choose from and the hotel is within walking distance to Oia and Fira for a day of exploring. If you don’t fancy walking the bus stop is only a ten minute walk away. My husband and I had a fabulous serene stay at this wonderful hotel. Thank you to all the wonderful exceptional staff, nothing is too much trouble and they all go out of their way to make your stay an excellent one. What’s not to like Book it 😎

We had such a good week at Avaton. The staff were so helpful - thankyou so much Efthimis Eleftheria and Bilal for helping us have a fabulous holiday - from your recommendations, arranging boat trips, car hire etc and not forgetting the wonderful breakfast brought to our room every morning. The hotel is in a lovely quiet location with very easy access onto the caldera coastal path to walk to Fira ( about 30 mins) or to Oia (about 2 hours) and close to some very lovely places to eat. We also had a massage arranged at the hotel which was very good. Couldn’t recommend the hotel and its team highly enough

I highly recommend staying at Avaton. First the location is excellent, the hotel is right on the rim of the Caldera with the best views. We actually chose to watch the sunsets from the balcony of our Avaton instead of the famed Oia. The location is also close to some very good restaurants, but also away from the hoards of cruise tourists. Next the service at the hotel is outstanding. They arranged our airport and ferry transfers and set up transports to the beach. Lastly the rooms are super nice and comfortable and breakfast is served in your room.

A quiet, small hotel in the most beautiful location, the views were breathtaking. We stayed in a superior room and it was lovely, it had tea /coffee making facilities, a smart tv (bring a fire stick etc.. as the limited English channels worked very sporadically) air conditioning and fresh fruit & a bottle of local wine on arrival, much appreciated. The pool area was right on the cliff path so even though it was really tranquil there were constantly people walking past you while you soaked up the sun. The staff in the hotel were super helpful and friendly and the breakfast to order was wonderful. I would have loved the music around the pool to have been more varied, it was the same 20 songs on repeat all day, every day for 7 days although I did appreciate that it was only background music, non intrusive. The cliff walk takes around 45 minutes to Fira (great shopping!) with scenic stops & over 2 hours in the opposite direction to Oia, be warned though that you will need good walking shoes/boots especially on the Oia route as it is extremely rough in parts with steep inclines, if you do walk it you will never forget the magnificent views in all directions. There was a lovely breeze a lot of the time so bring a wrap for the evenings. The only critique I have is that the drinks in the hotel were too expensive, the bar was unmanned so you had to locate someone if you wanted to order something. It would have been better as an honesty bar with more reasonable prices and then we would have used it and enjoyed it. Imerovigli has enough restaurants without needing to walk far, I would say that it wasn’t a gastronomic holiday, the food in all the restaurants we tried was just ok and as expected in Santorini was also expensive. We really enjoyed our holiday mainly due to the lovely people in the hotel, the beautiful weather and magnificent views.

Excellent resort and the staff could not have been more helpful and attentive, Especially the new manager Efthimios very personable and knowledgable. Fantastic room on the second floor ,was spacious clean and comfortable, Breakfast served on your balcony every morning which was so relaxing, Within walking distance to shops and restaurants and also easy to use local transport and taxis. It is a quieter part of Santorini but very beautiful and the best sunsets we have ever seen We would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you Avalon resort and spa Neil Bagnall and Cathryn Jordan.
