First Impressions: We arrived around 2am with a very tired child, and while the front desk staff was pleasant enough, there was no one available to assist us with our cases despite the hotel knowing our late arrival time. A small gesture like help with bags would have gone a long way after a long journey. The Room: One of the best layouts we’ve had so far—spacious and well thought out. Two single beds in a separate area for the child, with a door dividing it from our master room with a comfy double bed. TVs in both rooms, decent plug access, working air con (bonus!), and a fridge that was regularly topped up with water. No minibar as advertised in other places, but the basics were met. Balcony was on the smaller side, but did the job for drying pool gear and grabbing a quiet sit. Pool & Beach: The pool was freezing—honestly Baltic! We managed a dip, but our child couldn’t stay in for more than 15 minutes without chittering from the cold. The beach, however, was far more enjoyable and warmer by comparison. Definitely worth the short walk. Food & Drink: Food was pretty standard for an all-inclusive setup. Lunch options were generally better than dinner, which felt backwards. Fruit variety was lacking, and there wasn’t much consideration for children’s meals—we found ourselves eating out more than planned just to give our child something other than chips. Cocktails were average at best, with limited variety. (Pekcan down the road served delicious cocktails and had a massive menu—definitely check it out!) Staff & Service: Most staff weren’t overly friendly or attentive. Service felt a bit transactional rather than warm or welcoming. It didn’t ruin our holiday, but it didn’t enhance it either. Rep & Excursions: Our Love Holidays rep was honestly dreadful. Knowing we arrived at 2am, he called at 9am demanding we attend his talk “or we’d miss our return transfer.” When my husband did go down, he refused to give prices for excursions unless money was handed over upfront—not acceptable. Thankfully, a local shop rep just a few doors up sorted us with better options and far better service. Highly recommend skipping the hotel rep and supporting local businesses. Extras & Tips: The Monday street market is a hidden gem—huge and full of brilliant finds. The hotel doesn’t advertise this, but it’s absolutely worth saving some spending money for. Heads Up: Unless you sleep like a hibernating bear, prepare to be woken up daily around 5am by an ongoing 20-minute loudspeaker call to prayer echoing through the area. It’s culturally significant, of course, but not ideal on holiday when you’re hoping for a long lie! Overall: It wasn’t a terrible stay by any means, and we made some great memories, but there are definitely areas that could be improved. A little more warmth and attention to detail from staff and better food variety—especially for kids—would have lifted the experience massively.
