Avithos Resort

Just returned from a great stay at Avithos Resort. The apartments were stylish, spotless, and cleaned daily. Fresh towels arrived every three days, including pool towels—which was super handy. Beach towels aren’t provided separately, so it’s worth bringing your own if you're planning to venture out. A real bonus was the respectful vibe at the pool—no sunbed reserving nonsense! Plenty of loungers, umbrellas, and shady spots without the early-morning scramble. So refreshing not to have to be up at the crack of dawn getting sun loungers! If you're up for exploring Kefalonia, I’d definitely recommend hiring a car. It made all the difference for seeing other parts of the island. Espidres, a lovely restaurant just five minutes walk up the road. We ended up going four nights—it was that good. Also loved Sea Salt down at Al Helios beach for relaxed beautiful sea views in the evening. Couple other guests we spoke to ate at Crazy George’s and said it was good. All these were in walking distance. Hotel breakfast seemed steep at €26 for adults and €18 for kids, so we popped to the Sagittarius supermarket nearby and grabbed cereal, fruit, and snacks for DIY breakfasts and picnics. Water is much cheaper there too. For a proper breakfast treat, *Bake Me Happy* down the road had excellent brunch options, pastries and coffee. Recommend packing metal water bottles to keep water cool and we took a lunch cooler backpack with us too for picnics. We did have lunch at the hotel once—pesto pasta was generous and perfect for sharing. The cocktails and beers were spot on too, and the staff were lovely and hardworking throughout. All in all, Avithos Resort gave us a chilled and comfortable base to enjoy Kefalonia. Would happily return.

We had a lovely time at this hotel. It is in a great location if you want a quiet and relaxing break, which is what we wanted. There are plenty of restaurants and a shop in walking distance but we did hire a car for the week as we like to go out and about. I’d really recommend this so you get to see the rest of this beautiful island. The hotel arranged this for us in advance which was great and it was at the hotel on the first morning. Nisha had been fantastic helping with me with this and was lovely greeting us on our arrival. The rooms are lovely and very tastefully decorated. For self catering I think the kitchen was well resourced and the toaster had never even been used. The bathroom is lovely and outside the bathroom a lovely sink and vanity area but be aware the door for it is frosted glass and does not seal (like a 1/2-1cm gap all around the door as a style thing) so privacy is tricky as you can hear everything. This is worth knowing if you are travelling with teens or someone who is perhaps neurodivergent or very private. It was great to have pool towels too. The pool and pool area was lovely. Great wooden beds and cabanas. Really stylish and comfortable. Good space between beds and lots of umbrellas for shade. We had no problem getting beds regardless of the time of day until the last 2 days when it did get busier and some people seemed to do the old bed reserving but be absent from those beds for a lot of the day. But there are little sofas too and tables and chairs so there were still places to sit then. There are chairs at your room as well and we had a lovely outside space with a huge airer. The staff were virtually all very friendly and welcoming and helpful. Cleaning staff really lovely and the ladies in the bar area were great. A nice menu for food although on more expensive side but the quality of the food was more than just pool side food and was really tasty and plentiful portion wise. It definitely deserves its star rating and I would recommend if you want a more luxurious hotel stay on this beautiful island. As with most beaches in the island, the walk down to them at steep.

Beautiful resort and wonderful for families and couples alike. It’s a quiet resort but really close to everything you need. We hired a car directly through the resort and it was really easy and reasonable. The rooms are lovely and kept clean. The breakfast is amazing

Beautiful resort. Room clean and comfortable plus decor is so lovely and chic. Staff are accommodating and professional. Good food. Bar us a bit on expensive side. Would definitely recommend and visit again!

10 minute taxi ride from the airport, 10 minute walk from the beach, spotless air-conditioned apartments, large relaxing pool, never too busy, wonderfully helpful staff, great food and drinks. The area is lovely too, with excellent restaurants within walking distance and Argostoli, and its beautiful marina, also just a short drive away Exactly what we were hoping for. Highly recommended.
