Away Bali Legian Camakila Resort

First time staying at the hotel and the price and the locality of what we needed was right in par. I emailed the hotel in the weeks leading up to our stay to ask how much extra would an upgrade be but never heard back from them. I found the F&B staff friendly. Wasn’t a big fan of housekeeping or the front office. On our first night my daughter spilt about 1/2 a palm size worth of papaya juice on the white sheet. We did the right right thing and left a note for house keeping. That afternoon I started getting bombarded with phone calls and WhatsApp messages saying we have caused property damage and we owe 2000000 IDR to replace the sheet. I was like that is $200 AUD for a white sheet that is ridiculous. This was then reduced to 400000 IDR if the stain could not come out. Two days later I was Tom the stain was unable to come out and I need to pay immediately. I asked that as I am not paying for the sheet I wish to keep the sheet and I will collect that night. Which they agreed to. When collecting the sheet that night from the front desk myself and about 4 staff members opened the sheet and everyone had the torches out and no one could see any stain. They asked if they could hold for the night until house keeping returned the next day which I agreed to. The next day there was about 6 staff members looking for the stain which was indeed not visible. They said that I must pay and as I didn’t want any dramas for my daughter or myself I obliging paid. I kept the sheet in which I gifted to one of our Balinese friends. Had the stain not being able to come out I would have been happy to pay. When I returned home I purposely spilt papaya juice on a set of sheets and let it sit over night and it came out in the wash with no extra effort. It wasn’t about the money it was the principle of the matter. What even made it more difficult to swallow is that I speak perfectly good Indonesian (which they didn’t know) and I could understand what they were saying about us.

Away is a modern well run hotel but IF you have mobility issues it is a must to avoid There is a single tiny lift that was out of order the entire time we were there 31 slippery steep stairs from room to dining room For everyone else it has huge modern rooms 2 nice pools one on the ocean and one street side Breakfast is included but can get busy as the dining room is a tight fit Staff are as friendly as you will ever meet and nothing is too much trouble Price was very reasonable If you prefer sleep over heavy metal request a room at the rear as the front rooms are opposite a couple of very busy bars but the rear rooms are absolutely quiet Well positioned right on the beach and central to everything in legian A most pleasant stay

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful family stay at Away Bali Legian Camakila — a beautiful beachfront hotel with amazing service and great facilities. Special thanks to Suci for her attentive care throughout our stay, and to Amel at the Kids Club, who was fantastic with our children. The Kids Club was a real highlight and gave us time to truly relax. The food at The Beach House Legian was excellent — fresh, full of flavour and enjoyed with unbeatable ocean views. The massage experience at Salila Spa was incredible — deeply relaxing and very professional. Great pools, clean and spacious facilities, and the beach right in front of the hotel. A perfect choice for families or couples looking for comfort, warmth and quality service. Highly recommended 🤍

Already planning next visit🤍🌿✨ We enjoyed a lovely stay. The unit was immaculately clean, well maintained and premises were well secured. It's in a great location, very central. The @awaybalilegian itself is updated and has a lovely balcony with pool view. olso the kids club make feel happy for children. I would highly recommend it to anyone.🤍

First time staying at Away Bali Legian Camakila and we loved it. Didn’t expect to have free flow cocktails vouchers for the full seven days, a voucher for lunch plus a free couple massage. With or without these included vouchers we still highly recommended this hotel. The staffs are wonderfull and attentive. Special thank to Piane at the beach club bar for your beautiful cocktails. Definitely be back with the family next time.
