Everything was fresh and well-presented. A spa treatment during tropical rain, in a jungle-view room, was healing and deeply relaxing. We skipped long tours that day and embraced mindful luxury — a dip in the villa’s private pool, sounds of rain, and a bottle of rosé under the tropical sky. Evenings with jungle storms, music in the villa, and cozy dinners in Ubud made every moment memorable. ⸻ 🍴 Food Highlights in Town We had amazing dinners nearby — spicy pork ribs at Warung Pondok Madu, artisanal pizza at Mamamia, and a modern dinner at Pison with live rock music. Shuttle and private drivers arranged by the hotel made everything easy. ⸻ 💖 One of the Most Soulful Stays of Our Lives Ayung Resort wasn’t just a stay — it was a deep experience. If you’re in Ubud and seeking beauty, spirituality, and intimacy, this is the place. We left with hearts full of peace, and it will stay with us forever.

We stayed at the hotel. The staff in hotel, transport shuttle, restaurant & bar were amazing. The food was delicious & well presented at breakfast, free afternoon tea & dinner. They took care of my allergies & linked them to our room so we’re always prepared. The peaceful ambience, authentic entertainment & view were stunning. Our room was large with a lovely view overlooking the valley. Walk to river to watch rafting fun. Hotel is a great location to explore central Bali & then return to peace & tranquility. Hotel organise trips & taxis if you want to explore & helped us build a custom tour of temples & transfer. One receptionist even helped phone round local companies when it wasn’t clear where/who my independent tour was booked with. They really do go above & beyond normal expectations. Rating: 3.5/5 Ayung Resort is a sprawling, hilly property surrounded by incredibly lush greenery. It’s spacious, with many buildings scattered across the grounds. The resort describes itself as an "art resort"—though personally, I found the aesthetic more on the kitschy side than truly artistic. The rooms were a bit of a letdown: dark, slightly damp, and quite basic. Bathrooms were minimal at best. It definitely doesn’t live up to a luxury resort standard, but for those who don’t mind simplicity, it could be a decent fit. That said, there are highlights. Afternoon tea (served from 3 to 6 PM) is a pleasant touch. The view from the café and main restaurant building is stunning—you get a clear sight of the nearby hill and distant mountains, making for a truly serene scene. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Just a heads-up: the resort is quite remote. Getting a Grab or Gojek can be difficult, so plan accordingly. Overall, it’s not a 5-star experience, but for a nature-filled, quiet, and budget-friendly stay, it might be just right for some.

Fantastic experience in this calm, peaceful, green jungle retreat. Beautiful surroundings, I can't fault any aspect of our stay. Everyone here is so helpful and friendly, the rooms are perfect. I don't think I've eaten tastier smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast!
