AVOID! Plenty of options in Bali. Take ANY of them.

One of the worst hotel experiences of my 47 years of travel which is the only reason I’m writing a review. I booked Bali Dynasty for three nights as a landing pad before I head to the north of the island for a quiet, rainforest stay more conducive to my trip’s purpose. I had stayed at Bali Dynasty previously with my family and had a beautiful time which is why I booked despite being located in a part of Bali I don’t especially like. On day two I arrived back to a room where the key no longer worked. Turns out the hotel had kicked me out of the room that I paid for because they overbooked and needed an adjoining room for another guest. Thing is, they failed to let me know. I literally arrived back at my room to it locked. I was forced to pack up my things and move everything in the middle of the day to another room on the other side of the hotel. No apologies, no explanation, just kicked out without warning. The cruel irony is I only returned to my (locked) room because I was unwell and needed to lie down. Earlier that morning I had to print a QR code for an eSim. I approached the Guest Services desk to see if they could print and sat down. The gentleman helping me went back to the front desk to print the code. In that time another Guest Services woman approached the desk and literally told me to move because she was helping someone else. The AU$80 spa treatment — a massage, scrub and soak as an attempted gentle treatment because I manage ME/CFS Long Covid which is the entire reason for my visiting Bali — was mediocre at best, especially when there’s an abundance of careful, considered, competent therapists in Bali. After an average massage and a pointless scrub, I was left freezing cold in the air conditioning for ages. Deeply unpleasant way to spend $80 even though the therapist herself wasn’t unpleasant. The food is consistently awful and tacky for a supposed five star resort. Think Coles cafeteria c.1985 or Ribs n Rumps, at best. A tonne of food at breakfast yet all of such embarrassingly bad quality I ate cornflakes and some soggy papaya. Coffee costs extra. The towels and sheets were yellowed, the shower was filthy with hair in the drain, blood on the toilet rim and finger prints all over the mirror. The otherwise beautiful lobby is littered with brash advertising for tourism and the doof music at the pool is unrelenting. I love music, and I enjoy it loud, but this was shockingly bad. I wouldn’t mind if I had paid for a simple hotel experience but I paid for something that fell cartoonishly short. Cannot wait to GTFO in the morning. The ONLY redeeming things about this hotel are the stunning gardens, the truly wonderful options for children and the kind staff AWAY from the front desk. There are plenty of other options in Bali. Take any one of them!

Terrific family holiday with young children.

The Bali Dynasty Resort Hotel is excellent for a holiday with a young family. The resort caters well for children, and the swimming pools and kids' club are very child friendly. There is plenty of room, grounds are immaculate. there are good eating options within the resort. The staff are very friendly and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. The location in South Kuta is walking distance to Waterbomb Park (a must for all ages) and lots of eateries flourish the streets. Only a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport. (use Bluebird metered taxis, very cheap!). The beach is only a minute's walk away. Probably not the resort if you don't have children.

Great trip with family with ages from 4 through to 62! Everyone had an amazing time at this superb hotel. Food, accommodation, staff, excursion booking, cannot fault anything other than they need to learn how to make a hot cappuccino. From check in to check out, 100% perfection

Great for small children

If you have children under 12 years and your cashed up then this is the place for you. It's an older resort spotlessly clean totally focused on entertaining the kids to the detriment of the parents. Apart from an exceptional breakfast menu, the meals tendered to be bland and uninteresting but targeted exhausted children at the end of the day. If you where looking for quality Indonesian or international food then you find it elsewhere. For a country renowned for seafood there wasn't a prawn or fish in sight. The staff were great and very friendly. Couldn't fault them.
