In 10+ years of traveling I never had such a horrible experience, this is by far the filthiest place with the worst management I could ever come across. I stayed in the big shared villa with 10 rooms. I went to see the room before booking and they showed me a room in perfect condition with very fast Wi-Fi. The manager then asked me for 3 million IDR deposit to secure the room (any other place I’ve been to in Bali in 3 years only takes 500k for this). On the day of check-in the room wasn’t ready and the staff at the Villa didn’t want to even let me see it before I paid the remaining amount. I insisted to see the room first, they let me in and in fact it wasn’t the room they showed me earlier. The one they gave me was dirty, full of mold everywhere, broken furniture, ripped off curtain and no Wi-Fi reception at all. Despite their failure, the manager and the staff kept asking me no stop for the rest of the payment (2.8 million outstanding, so I had already paid more than a half of a full month rent) and I asked to talk to the manager face to face first. She refused and stopped replying to my messages. I asked the staff to check the internet connection that night and they replied “You pay first”. Again, at this point I had already paid more than half of a full month rent. The following morning, I started receiving text messages since 7 am from 2 different phone numbers asking for the outstanding payment. I made the transfer and texted the manager saying “I trust you are a honest person and you will fix all of the issues now”. That was a huge mistake, she doesn’t even know what the word “honest” means. From this point it was an absolute nightmare. The internet wasn’t working and the manager kept lying to me that “her technicians” were working on it. The only technician I saw was the pool guy who set up a repeater close to my room, but this never worked. They advertise the room as having “fast Wi-Fi where you can take video calls and stream videos for your whole group”. We sorted this problem after 12 days by putting a repeater inside my room. After 3 days I found mold everywhere, even in my pillows! I told the manager about this and she said that the staff replaced them with new ones. Not true, they only changed the pillowcases and left 2 moldy pillows in my bed. I texted a photo of the moldy pillows to the manager, she didn’t reply or say sorry, as if this was normal. After a few more days I found mold all over my clothes and my stuff, in the wardrobe, in the light switches, in the curtains etc. The manager said “the room is well prepared as you can see. Before booking, you have come here as well. But the humid grow and build over time. As we discussed before, you can bring your own dehumidifiers like the one you have on your box. I can also bring the humidity machine so your room have normal humid.” So not only she showed me a room in a good condition and gave me a disgusting one, she never said sorry for anything and she also said that I needed to bring a dehumidifier, which I did. After a few more days, even with a dehumidifier in the room, the electricity sock blew up - perhaps because the room is literally wet? - and I had sparks blowing next to my face! I told the manager I wanted to leave and asked for my money back, at least for the 2 remaining weeks I had already paid in advance. Obviously she refused and she offered to bring a dehumidifier instead, which “will do some magic”, according to her. Of course no magic can be done in a room like that so I gathered all my things and had to rent out another place because I couldn’t stand that horror anymore. I talked to the other people who stay in the Villa and they said that room has been empty for a long time and every time someone comes in, they leave straight away. So the manager knew exactly the room is not in a condition to be rented out but she doesn’t care. I officially checked out after 3 weeks but had already been sleeping in another place for 1 week. I attached photos and videos of the room so that people be aware of what they’re getting into.
