We have stayed here several times over the past 25 years, and so know the hotel well. We had a great 10 day stay in a Two Bedroom Signature pool villa. The villa had had a recent refurbishment with new a/c, lighting, TVs and kitchen equipment, as well as a good paint and tidy up. Hotel staff were amazing. Well trained, attentive and very hard working - and many have been here for 10-20 years. The F&B offering was the best we have known it to be, and Khun Niwat was ever present overseeing things. Saffron was excellent Thai food, expertly manage by Meaow, there is a very long and well executed Japanese menu in Hojo, and the Silk Road buffet at Water Court was high quality - we went twice. Breakfast is excellent and the staff (particularly Polla) really put in a shift keeping a demanding clientele happy. You are given complimentary bicycles on arrival which we used for everything, and the occasional buggies we ordered arrived promptly. Golf and tennis are on hand and great facilities - Khun Tao was a great tennis pro. We didn’t really use the beach except to cycle there for an early morning jog/walk. Really enjoyed a Thai cookery class at the hotel, in an amazing dedicated cookery school. Excellent Spa. We took a long tail boat, through one of the touts on the beach, about 20 mins off shore for a snorkel off a tiny island, which was great. Several trips to restaurants in Bang Tao, a short cab ride away. All in all a really impressive stay for a hotel which has just celebrated its 30th anniversary.
