Second Time at Barcelo

Wonderful resort, so many things to do. They do an excellent job of handling crowds it is impressive. Snorkeling is great, but remember it is the ocean people, if you are not a good swimmer do not expect a dollar store float to make you safe. You are not invincible! Do not use the full face snorkle masks look it up they are dangerous. If you do it safely the snorkeling is amazing, turtles, barracudas, sting rays etc. Rooms are great clean, bring lots of sunblock its very expensive at the resort. Sand toys recommend if you have kids, hotwheels track make a great toy. Chair saving is an issue and some people are selfish saving chairs they do not go to for hours and hours. Bring your own cups to save work for employees. Highly recommend!

Overall slightly disappointing. We stayed here in 2022 and remember a much better experience. Seems like the hotel is dated now and the food quality has gone down. Also the staff seemed unhappy and didn't make us feel welcomed.

Book it!! Amazing resorts.

We booked Colonial but but were appointed right beside it, at Tropical. Same difference. No big deal. All connected. One of the best resorts we've stayed in.. Pay for one, enjoy 3 sister hotels. Tons of activities. Huge, beautiful pools. Great service. Surprised me with a small chocolate cake in our room, as they must have noticed on my passport, that it was my birthday. Very nice entertainment. Comfy bed. Good size rooms. Favorite a la carte restaurants were seafood and the steak one. Book as soon as you arrive. Buffets good too. It was worth the one hour and 20 minute drive from airport. Great memories!

Was told the restaurant was completely booked upon check in. We only had 1 restaurant available to us on the second day. The rest of the time we had to go to the buffet. Seemed like all the buffet has the same food selection everyday.
