Let’s be realistic about what this is as we review it. It’s an all inclusive at a good price point in the DR. It’s not the Ritz Carlton or some swanky beach resort. It doesn’t pretend to be and shouldn’t be reviewed as such. It’s a beautiful spotless and very well maintained ocean front resort. The service is great, may not be very personal but it’s still excellent. There is an English language barrier very often but this isn’t an English speaking country. If you stay here you must upgrade to premier level. Don’t go if you don’t want to do this. Premier gets you a better room—pure ocean front and very large, better food and better services. Ability to make advanced dinner reservations as well which is important. It’s not even a question whether this is worth it or not. The pools are magnificent. The ocean is amazing and the beach and its chairs are great. So much space and never on top of anyone. The shows are very good but not amazing. The casino is a typical Caribbean casino, not great and a little suspect at times but still good fun. The buffets are just ok, great selection but be weary of what you choose. The restaurants are good to very good. I wouldn’t recommend Coral or the Hibachi restaurant but La Comedie and Chez Gourmet are excellent-and no additional cost for Premier level. Italian and Mexican restaurants are fine but not amazing. If you want all inclusive and you want a true beach front resort and one that doesn’t have people from NY running down saving every chair by 6am and then going to be for 3 hours then this is an excellent choice. It’s very safe, very clean and we had a great experience. And the for what you get at the price it’s amazing.
