Recently back from an 11 night stay at this lovely hotel. We travelled from the airport, using the public bus service, it was a 40 minute ride and cost 3.50 euro The hotel is easy to locate, it’s pretty much on the outskirts of the resort. It’s spotlessly clean and very welcoming. Reception make everything clear to you upon checking in. We found our room to be much more spacious than we could have imagined, it was presented immaculately and serviced every day to the same standard. Our stay was the half board option. Breakfast, buffet style and plenty of choice. Evening meal, again buffet style. Many things were repeated, I suppose it’s their staple and meets nearly all diners wants. They did have a small section each evening of what I suppose you’d call ‘specials’. As part of your stay, you are offered an a la carte evening. It’s at a separate side restaurant to the main one and it’s Tuesday or Friday evenings only. Again, a superb experience. The pool is not heated, worth bearing in mind as to the time of year you’re thinking of travelling. It was a welcome treat for us, to help cool down. There are more than enough sun beds/ Bali beds so absolutely no nessesity to reserve. There were a few people who did, but the majority respected the signs that asked you not to do so. There is no music around the pool, you can every so often hear music from surrounding hotels, it is not loud and in no way affects your ability to rest and relax. There are gentle fitness sessions offered daily. Pilates, yoga, or pool relaxation. The instructors come round and gently ask if you’d like to join in. The hotel offers a free bus service in to both Playa de Ingles or Maspalomas, during daylight hours which is handy. If you want to go in to town beyond that, it’s a walk, bus or taxi. Downhill going, so the incline for the return Now for the important bit, the staff/team. I can honestly say that they were amazing, they work so hard to make your stay as enjoyable as it can be. Each and everyone, from the front desk, waiting, cleaning, or maintenance teams, they are extremely polite and helpful. They are a credit to the Barcelo brand.
