Baros Maldives

We had our honeymoon trip in Baros Maldives for 3 days, a short getaway but such amazing experience. We stayed at the beach villa and it was incredible, when we entered the room we surprised by the decoration on our bed they specially made for honeymooners. The room was clean with modern touches and island lifestyle. Thank you for the housekeeping staff , we cant remember the name , for always took a good care of our room cleanliness. The island itself is beautiful. Perfect for couples seeking for relaxation, exploration and lot of good food and drink! Our trip was made special by the staffs in the island , we’re treated both as a guest but also as a friend- a unique mix which we rarely find. But still they engaged with the guests in very professional way. All the staffs were amazing but we would like to highlight few names that gave us extraordinary experience during our stay - Jameel that helped us for the reservation, Nasym from the front office and Sita for their friendliness and their support to make our honeymoon memorable. - Sujata ,she always ready to lend a helping hand at anytime. She makes our trip perfect because at anytime she will make sure we dont have any complain both in the room and restaurants. Her friendliness is a special memory that we will always remember - Irfan and Farid from the Cayenne restaurant, both of them were great and fun. They had recommendations ready for us at all time. They are extremely friendly , whenever they see us around they would come and say hi. - Alson from the Lime restaurant. We see him during our breakfast and our last dinner in the island, he is friendly and always offering help to the guests. There was another guy from the restaurant which we cant remember the name that helps us a lot. - Azwad from the Lighthouse. He is a well experienced waiter, he knows his job very well. Professional and friendly at the same time. Our favorite part of the dinner was when he served the flambé dessert in front of us. So stunning!

We had another amazing stay on Baros. Everyone is so welcoming and the food and snorkelling brilliant, We really enjoy the lobster bisque at the Lighthouse restaurant. We actually saw Finny the shark without a dorsal fin several times this time, Saeed always makes sure our stay goes smoothly and is always smiling. We are looking forward to returning in January.

I stayed at Baros with my mom for a few days. I don’t usually write reviews but I wanted to say thank you to a few people there. Alson from the restaurant was very nice. He told me to try the waffle and it was surprisingly good. He also give us delicious ice cream.He always checked on us in a friendly way. Shimla, the girl at the restaurant entrance, was also very sweet. One night she brought us to see the baby sharks. My mom was really happy about that. Our butler Saeed prepared a flower bubble bath for me on the last day. It was a surprise and I really appreciated it. We also went snorkeling. The guide (the same person who does the nature walk, sorry I forgot the name) was patient and answered my questions about the weather and eagle rays. He also took some nice photos for us. Overall the island is quiet and relaxing, and the staff made our stay feel warm.

I booked our stay at Baros about 300 days in advance—part of my habit of planning adventures that my wife and I can look forward to, especially when life’s ups and downs make a future “recharge” feel essential. For context, we’re equally comfortable spoiling ourselves in a luxurious hideaway or roughing it in far less pleasant circumstances in third-world cesspools, so our impressions come from a broad base of travel experience. With that said, I can summarize our stay in one word: brilliant. I arrived with high expectations, but Baros exceeded them in every way. We stayed in an overwater villa that was clean, comfortable, beautifully appointed, and simply delightful. Room service was excellent. The view from our deck was stunning, and I could easily access the reef—blacktip reef sharks and the occasional manta ray included among the welcome visitors. The bathroom was spacious, and the tub more than accommodated a “bain pour deux.” The bed was wonderfully comfortable—and further comments would make Harry Flashman blush. Dining: Meals were delicious across the board, with generous portions and excellent service. Our routine mirrored how we eat at home: early breakfast, late afternoon dinner, and no lunch. Breakfast included a buffet with an à la carte main dish, while dinner was fully à la carte. We dined at Lime, Cayenne, and the bar, though we skipped the Lighthouse. The Seafood Market buffet at Cayenne was so good—and so bountiful—that we couldn’t sleep afterward, a testament to both the quality of the food and our own overindulgence. Activities: Snorkeling gear was in good condition. I completed a dive on the house reef and found the dive shop to be safety-conscious, flexible, and reasonably priced. (My dives are limited to 15m for personal reasons—irrelevant here except to note that I wish I could have done more; the location certainly warrants it.) Logistics: The hotel’s hospitality extended seamlessly beyond the resort. We were met at the airport on arrival—very helpful after a long journey. The speedboat transfer was quick, comfortable, and staffed by a friendly crew. Upon departure, Baros arranged assistance that helped us move through check-in and security smoothly, which we greatly appreciated. Final Thoughts: The Maldives as a whole has been a terrific experience for us—yes, we were spoiled, and yes, we loved it. For anyone planning a visit, I recommend reading a bit about the islands’ history, including the transition from Buddhism to Islam and the interplay between foreign hotel groups and locally developed properties. As a Buddhist myself, I have no stake in the matter; I simply found it interesting context. All in all, our stay was exceptional. And yes—I’m already planning our return. Addendum: I should also mention that I’ve intentionally avoided listing the names of specific staff members who made our stay so exceptional. This is out of respect for their privacy. That said, the entire team left us with a deeply positive and lasting impression.

A Truly Unforgettable Anniversary Stay on Baros Maldives Arrival and first impression: From the moment we arrived in Malé, our anniversary trip to Baros Maldives felt effortlessly smooth and deeply special. Because the island is only about 20 minutes from the airport, the transfer by speedboat was quick and beautifully arranged—Baros only needed our flight details, and everything else was handled flawlessly. At the airport we were greeted warmly and accompanied directly to the boat. Upon arrival on Baros, we were welcomed personally by the Resort Manager, our dedicated butler, and several members of the team. They greeted us with a handshake and a refreshing welcome drink, before showing us around the island and escorting us to our villa. That first impression alone already set the tone for what would become one of the most memorable trips. The Island: Baros is simply stunning. Powdery white beaches, swaying palms, and the most incredible shades of turquoise water. The island is small, serene, and wonderfully private. We often had the feeling that we were the only guests there, which made the experience even more special. Water Villa: We stayed in a Water Villa, which was impeccably clean, beautifully maintained, and offered total privacy. Housekeeping was attentive and thoughtful. On our anniversary day, we were surprised by a sweet gesture and a delicious cake - one of many moments that showed how much the team pays attention to every detail. Service & Staff and Special Thanks: The staff truly made our stay extraordinary. Everyone greeted us by name, remembered our preferences, and consistently went above and beyond to make our holiday perfect. A heartfelt thank you to Bonan, our butler, who supported us proactively throughout our stay. She made everything seamless, comfortable, and relaxed—often anticipating what we needed before we even asked. A special mention also goes to Nandhu, who made our first evening unforgettable. He also created an exceptional dining experience at Cayenne, where we enjoyed outstanding Wagyu beef while watching sharks swim through the water below. His warm humor, attention to detail, and ability to tune into our personal preferences immediately made us feel at home. We also want to thank Totto, who amazed us with a beautiful private cooking presentation at the Lighthouse restaurant and added many thoughtful touches to our breakfast and dining expericienes. Every interaction with him felt genuine and heartfelt. And to Aswadh, thank you for taking such wonderful care of us on several evenings and for always going out of your way to make us feel completely at ease. You looked after us with such kindness and made our breakfast at Nooma feel truly special. A huge thank you as well to Chandana, the pastry chef, who surprised us with our favorite dessert—another example of the deep attention and care the team puts into making guests feel valued. Snorkeling & Activities: The snorkeling around Baros is spectacular. The house reef is full of life, offering vibrant corals and beautiful marine creatures. We also joined a small snorkeling activity where the winner receives a private sunrise breakfast on the Nooma, the resort’s traditional Maldivian sailboat. We were lucky enough to win—and the experience was truly unforgettable. The peaceful morning atmosphere, combined with the impeccable service from Aswadh and the crew, made it one of the highlights of our entire trip. In a nutshell: Baros exceeded our expectations in every possible way. The combination of natural beauty, privacy, outstanding food, and world-class service created the perfect setting for our anniversary celebration. We genuinely hope to return and see all of you again on our next stay. We can wholeheartedly recommend Baros Maldives to couples seeking tranquility, exceptional hospitality, and moments they will never forget.
