Review We have just been here for 11 nights, we have been Lara Barut twice now and as this was getting to expensive we decided to try the new Barut Goia. Overall we have been very happy with the holiday, as for the comments below I will be comparing to the Lara. Definitely worth a private transfer from the airport it took around 1hr, provided walk large space ViP bus with TV and You Tube. Good Aircon and water!! Just what you need after flying. It cost us 135euro return for 8 of us. We arrived late at night, checkin was great although no one around to help with bags or direct us to our room so we took a few wrong turns. If you arrive during the day, someone is there to help with bags. We got to the room and at 3am in the morning they hadn’t made a bed up for my 3yr old daughter they had provided a cot bed for her. So we had to wait for around 45minute for them to come with all the bedding to make her up a bed as she was far too big for a travel cot. Maybe request a bed and not a travel cot before hand via email? Overall the rooms are lovely, air con is great if you leave a key in the room whilst out. Beds are comfy, pillows are massive and very hard. Soft smaller cushions can be requested. Cleaners are lovely and do a great job, however we didn’t put a sign on the door for 2 days which meant it wasn’t cleaned. Balcony’s are nice and big, we had a garden view room we had no issue the whole holiday with mosquitoes. The mini bar in the fridge was stocked up every day only with drinks although no snacks like the Lara. Overall the rooms I would say are better than Lara because of the space and storage. And there are more lifts to the rooms than Lara so you don’t have to wait long for a lift. Buffet restaurant is good, many a times we struggled to get a table inside mainly for our evening meal. This was more desirable for everyone as it was air conditioned whereas the outside seating was just fans. Peak August this wasn’t enough to stop you sweating head to toe. The food was very good, lots of selection for breakfast, lunch and tea. The waiters were great, possibly not enough staff to wait on with drinks and clear tables. Sometimes we would have eaten before we got our drinks. If you were in B block you have to walk over to the A Block for meals and snacks only the Olea Restaurant has food and they won’t let you take out food during the day. Restaurants you can book every 3rd day, Olea, fely, Buffet, Olea, fely, buffet (repeat) for example. The que did get big as you can only book at the guest relations at 9am for that evening. So people got there around 8.45 I would say. I’ve never been an it be booked up so I’m not sure on capacity. Olea Restaurant- Recommend eating inside due to humidity outside for all resturants in August . Food was delicious, not much options for starters. Desserts very good. Pad Thai unreal! Fely Restaurant- Nice food again but in comparison to Lara the menus weren’t as extravagant, Goia served entrocot steak whereas Lara had chateaubriand steak. Lara’s food was top quality in all the restaurants. Lara has much more menu choices within all the snack bars for day time and restaurants and A la Cartes. Lara they have a selection of premium ice lolly’s and ice creams. Goia only have 3 flavour ice creams with cones or a dish. All bars are bar service at Goia, at the b suite pool the wait can be a while as most of the time there is only 1 staff. Whereas Lara it’s all table service even for the sun loungers where they come round on rollerblades or use the QR codes. Animation team is a lot more present& engaging at Lara. Here are Goia stuff is on but it’s not very well advertised by staff trying to get new children and people involved. Darts was always busy but I can’t comment on any of the others. Kids club, is morning and afternoon sessions. You can sign your children in, many people do. If they want to leave they will ring you, however there isn’t lots of staff so when busy I would worry as they cant keep an eye on all the children as the doors are left a bit open and there is not locked door policy. My girls did the cookie making they enjoyed that, they baked them and collected them later in the day. It’s lovely and cool place to be for the children and has a park right outside. The B suites also has a park. Pools are lovely, x2 baby pools that are cooler than the big pools. Lovely and clean. The indoor pool is good, and very cool. Can be used with a adult for the Kids. Staff are lovely and will do anything just as good as Barut, just not as many of them to Make the service better quality. Sunset bar lovely for an evening drink but again it’s bar service so when everyone is ordering cocktails you could be waiting a while when only 1 staff is on. New Towels can only be collected from the spa downstairs so this can be made much better by having towel stations around like Lara. The beach is a 2 minute bus ride, recommend taking the bus the first time to see which section of the beach is for the hotel guests. Then it’s a 5/10 minute walk. Sand got very hot so the kids hated it there. We couldn’t find a fresh beach towel station when down there which would have been good. The beach bar is ok, tables for lunch and it’s a menu option. Nothing compared to the entertainment, relaxed chilled vibe at Lara’s beach bar with saxophone and the best cocktails. Simple drinks available at Goia beach bar. Night entertainment we found repeated after a week, if you’re staying more than a week this isn’t the best. I’d rate the entertainment 4/10 compared to Lara’s 9/10 not much space for outdoor entertainment at Goia. Although the inside entertainment is good for the air con. Shout out to Fuat he was great and served us in the restaurants many of times, he was very attentive and always helpful and friendly.
