The price you pay for this place is not worth it at all, it was worst experience we have ever had on a vacation! PROS: Now don't get me wrong, the beach is beautiful, the waterpark was fun and jerk chicken was delicious, but that was about it.... CONS: We got picked up and dropped off in hot buses with no AC. The hot water stopped working in the room on day one and we lost power on day 4, flickering on and off afterwards. Keep in mind this is a "high end" resort that you pay thousands for but they honestly don't care. That's because the staff was so rude and literally did not care about anyone or anything. The rooms were so DIRTY and extremely outdated, it felt like a low end motel. They have stray cats at the restaurants that hop up on your table trying to eat your food and ants all over the tables. We ended up without a room for almost an entire day because they put us in the wrong one to begin, with which seems to be a pattern from previous reviews. They offered us a "resort credit" which was a fraction of the cost for a one night stay there and we were there for 6. The food was decent but you had to wait 30-45 minutes no matter where you went, even if it was pizza or ordering a simple burger. They were so understaffed and extremely overbooked that everywhere you went was packed with long waits. In general it was such a terrible experience with issue after issue every single day. To top it off their airport is so bad, flights were getting delayed for HOURS. We got pushed back 6 hours, which is not the resorts fault but be ready if you fly there. Also bring a lot of mosquito spray they are relentless out there. Summary: If you would like long waits, being hot all day, a dirty resort, rude understaffed workers, an overbooked resort with bugs, ants, stray animals trying to eat your food, then this is the place for you! If not STAY AWAY and book somewhere else that is worth it. Trust me!

Thanks to the careless attitude of the hotel front desk and reservation department, they completely ruined the birthday surprise I planned for my sister, who is vacationing in their hotel. They had whole bunch of promises in their web site stating they can make your vacation amazing and incredible, when you can purchase additional service, like Spa, Photo shoot, or Candlelight dinner as a gift. So, imagine, I purchased $541 Couples spa gift package, called "Tropical Paradise", in advance, was charged properly (way more expensive than anything here, in USA), and was promised that the gift certificate will be presented to the guest (my sister), with a nice birthday wishes note (the sales department asked me to spell the entire message, as if they wanted this to be an accurate and unique message). So, today, at 2pm their time, I just found out they never notified my sister about the gift, as a matter of fact, as they told me "I WAS THE ONE, who was supposed to inform my sister, to go spa, just like that! No surprise, no advanced notification, no birthday card, NOTHING from their side! The worst part is, they have no idea what they are doing, I was being transferred to 5 different people, with different level of negative "attitude" but NO ONE ever tried to fix the situation, as if the customer owes them big time. Let me tell you this, I have been in many countries around the world, and there is only one TRUTH! You go back to the same hotel, or you recommend the hotel ONLY if you have experienced an excellent treatment, matching their price. This hotel is a total failure, because no luxury private beach, no modern decor or an excellent food can make your reputation, if you have NO CUSTOMER SERIVCE!!!!! And honestly, today you proved that YOU HAVE THE WORST, CARELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! My advice: don't waste your money. Seda Los Angeles, CA

This is our third visit to this resort. We love the beach, food, activities and amenities offered. For this trip we brought my mom, bringing our party number to 5. Our kids are 12 and 15 and are comfortable exploring the resort on their own. The oldest spent a ton of time with friends he met during our first couple of nights. The flexibility to allow him to roam without worrying about making sure he has cash to pay for meals or tips takes a lot of stress away from us! Before I get into the negative, I want to mention staff who stood out from others. Sheldon, our butler for our candlelight dinner was a gem!! He just has the best energy and an infectious smile. You can see the pride in his work and what he does. He spoke very highly of the Sandals/Beaches brand and even gave us some recommendations for where to visit for our next trip! I really can’t recommend him enough!!! Coco at the loyalty office took great care of me and my husband. The employee we had a scheduled appointment with was tied up with something else, so we asked Coco if we could get with her so we could get back to the beach. We’re so glad we did!!! She was able to find the exact room at the requested resort we had been looking at for dates that would work for us this year at a great rate! We were in and out within 20 minutes thanks to her. I don’t think she stopped smiling for the whole time we were working with her. Just such positive energy, which we always appreciate. Conrad at Barefoot greeted us several mornings - always with a smile and kindness. He was very attentive to all guests and regularly jumped in to help when needed. We saw him interacting with younger kiddos, making them laugh. Great guy! Jessica at Neptunes was another staff member who was always kind and smiling, even when it was busy. She even offered to go to a different restaurant to get something we had requested, but we insisted she didn’t! So sweet of her to even offer! Diann at Cricketeers had an infectious smile and laugh. Finally but certainly NOT last!!!! Claude, who we encountered at both Mario’s and Cricketeer’s. People like him are why we are loyal to this brand. He was so personable every single time we saw him. He engaged with us in conversation, asked our opinions, shared his, recommended dishes, and was just a bright light!! We were always excited when we saw he was on shift. Now onto the not so great. Over the span of 6 stays with this brand, the stress I endured during this trip has left me feeling frustrated. This was the first time staying concierge and we will never do it again. What I thought was a group who would help make things easier, ended up lacking communication on multiple occasions and had me on a goose chase, making an already very stressful situation worse. My husband missed the first four nights of our trip, which led me to have to file a travel insurance claim. This occurred out of nowhere and left me scrambling to try to fix our trip. The insurance rep told me I needed an itemized statement with the manager’s signature listing the cost of my husband’s stay for those four nights. I requested this from concierge staff on 6/7, since I knew on that day when my husband would be flying in. I was told to check back with concierge on Wednesday, 6/11 for the letter. On the morning of 6/11, I called to ask about the letter, since we had an 8-hour boat excursion and I did not want to miss out on information. I was told to check in when I returned. When I did, there was no letter and staff told me I had to write down the information needed for the manager and to check back in. I then checked back in daily until I finally received the letter during check-out (letter still wasn’t ready when I went in that morning at 0930). When I did finally receive the letter, it was not an itemized statement with charges. Concierge staff told me they cannot supply this, booking had to. WHY DID I WASTE MY TIME??? I literally wrote down exactly what I needed AND spoke to staff daily for 5+ days about what the travel insurance agent told me I needed. I even stood there when they called the manager. At no point did anyone tell me they couldn’t provide me with this. I cannot tell you how frustrated I feel. I was given the run around daily and was made to feel like a bother. I remained patient, kind and calm despite feeling stressed and like a burden. Another time communication was lacking was with our candlelight dinner. We had to reschedule because we didn’t fill out a menu- which I didn’t know was a thing, because it was our first time doing it. Again, I didn’t fuss over it and just rolled with the punches. It’s just disheartening to leave feeling like a bother for something I was required to obtain. Making intentional stops by concierge really does take away from your time when you’re doing it 5 days in a row… Only to find out I could’ve saved all of that time by contacting booking. I feel the communication and customer care was severely lacking. After check-in, the excitement and kindness was gone and then you’re just an annoyance (I do have to say that Sir Theo is the only person who didn’t make me feel like a bother! This says a lot because I know he had to be frustrated when his co-workers sat by idly as other guests were coming in for assistance, and they were too busy talking to other staff and snacking to help). What helped some was that I was able to extend our stay by two days, which cost a small fortune, but it was worth getting back that time to spend with my husband. This trip was to celebrate his retirement from serving 24 years in the Army, which is why I fought to make things right for him! We did have a great time (I didn’t share with my family all that I had to deal with), but I will second guess my decision to come back for a fourth visit.

Our family of 30 came here for a BIG family vacation. It is a beautiful resort! One of the main plans was a private family dinner. The resort did a fantastic job executing the meal. We had the most incredible service and I’d like to thank the following men: Odrick , Nikoro, Joey, Gavin, Omar and Jemes. They were so incredibly kind and attentive. Their efforts made the event so meaningful!

We are normally Sandals guests, so I had a little higher expectations. The food was decent but not great at most places at the resort.Amenities were good, kid loved the place.
