Beachfront Hotel La Palapa

Being this my 5th time at Holbox, I didn’t hesitate to book her once again. And once again , LaPalapa de not disappointed. Rooms always clean and with working AC. Friendly staff which is always eager to help. The only “bad” thing that happened on this trip, was not the hotels fault. It was Mother Nature, a sea of sargasso had come up to the hotels beachfront, and it was terrible, it was so bad , that we could not even go into the water, even less stay sunbathing on the lounge chairs because the smell was unbearable. And this was the very first time I’ve seen this on all my trips to LaPalapa. It wasn’t helping having breakfast either because the stench was really bad. I don’t know how the beach is today, but in May, it was incredibly bad. Luckily for us, Holbox has miles of beaches to enjoy. We when towards punta mosquito , but the situation was similar, just head towards punta cocos, those beaches were in better conditions. Remember, all beaches are public here. Other than that, I would still highly recommend Hotel LaPalapa! I always come in the end of May , and there ain’t too much tourists, you have the island basically to yourself. Enjoy.

Absolutely perfect stay! We spent a week in a double queen balcony room. The beds were comfortable and the a/c kept the room cool. Food and service was excellent- we enjoyed breakfast, hamburgers, tacos, guacamole and drinks! The staff goes above and beyond!! Also, perfect location!

Is there a better hotel in Holbox? We don’t even need to know. This was our 4th visit to the island and all have been spent at this little paradise. We’ve walked this beach 30 times or more and for certain: La Palapa’s location is second behind nobody! Steps from everything downtown and even fewer to their lovely, private beach. The facility has a wonderful restaurant on site with excellent food and drinks. The grounds are kept immaculate on a daily basis. The rooms are modest, but amazingly clean and comfortable. Need anything? The staff is on point assisting with anything you need. As we discovered on our first trip several years ago, one of Holbox’s jewels is Isis at reception. She is simply amazing with help, directions, and recommendations. This amazing place is all we will ever need when we visit.

Hotel La Palapa was fantastic!! The staff is very friendly. They work each morning to ensure that the beach is pristine. The food is fresh and delicious! The fresh squeezed juices at breakfast are a must. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. It's perfect for two couples. There are three flights of stairs to the suite with no elevator, so be sure you're ok with stairs if you book it. The hotel's location is a quick walk to the town's center without the need for a taxi.
