Parador sky review We've been to Turkey loads of times, generally to hisaranou, fethiye or olu deniz, thought we would try and all inclusive in alanya for a change.... The love holidays photos, same on the other travel agent sites for this hotel are very, very misleading. The reception area is small, restaurant area is small, the pool area is very small and overcrowded. On landing we waited over 30mins for our shuttle driver to wake from the back seat of the shuttle, 1hr into the transfer we stopped in a service area for 30 mins and the passengers were advised to leave the bus to spend time in the services. Arrived at the hotel over an hour later than expected 4:20 am and our room had an issue and wouldn't be rdy until around 10 am , but we were put into another family room on a temp basis until our room was ready. This temp room was large but flaking paint on walls and ceiling. We had barely got to sleep when we were called at 7.30am to be told our other room was ready. The other room, the one we're in at the moment is a good size although based at the rear of the hotel the view is poor at best. The bathroom / shower is without a doubt the smallest we've EVER seen. The shower cubicle doesn't contain the water so it spreads on the bathroom and floor and there's no way to avoid this being walked into the bedrooms. The hotel is in a poor area and the view from the balcony isnt what anyone would want on an all inclusive holiday. While on the balcony the seating arrangements are children's patio sets! Waste of time for anyone over the age of 8. We went to make a coffee in our room ( after buying our own milk sugar coffee and water as none are supplied) and we found the inside of the kettle to be coated with rock hard noodles from previous guests 🤮 The pool area is a waste of time, too small a pool, not enough seats or loungers for th residents. Across the road the beach is saturated with fag ends and the amount of rocks and very sharp stones at the beach make it difficult to enter / exit the water. One of our boys cut his foot open on the first day. After seeing a local doctor for treatment we were told it's a common occurrence for people visiting th beach to cut thier feet. Purchased those neoprene slippers and was been a much better experience, spoilt only by the amount of litter in the water. Plastic cups , plastic bags, fag ends, crisp packets. The love holiday advert for the hotel says it has a private section of the beach just for hotel guests, this is BS. There's a sign in the reception area that says they will supply beach towels on request, we requested 4 of these on our 2nd day and they response was for 10euro per towel. Not for hire, or a refundable on return, but for purchase. You can buy beach towels for half that in any of the local shops. When vweve visited other 4 star hotels around turkey, there always been freely available bottled water in locations around the hotel. Dont xpect that here. Food in the restaurant is slops and much of the same every meal. And quite a bit of it gets reheated. Leftover chips from breakfast are reheated for dinner and tea.. stale and tasteless by midday..leftovers from midday are served in the evenings. Same with the bread and other foods. Staff seem polite and friendly though. We each had turns being violently sick, kids were first from the 3rd day in and for three days, I came down ill on the fourth day again for three days and the wife was ill from the 5th day for 3 days. We were told at the hotel reception that the local hospital had contacted them to say a lot of people had been admitted from the area and was due to the intense heat and parasites/ bacteria in the sea. There's been no signage or notification in the hotel to tell anyone though. As a result we've seen a lot of people being ill. The pool was emptied mid afternoon one day due to diarrhoea in there. The occupants in neighbouring rooms were ill and we'd spoken to others who had family members with diarrhoea and vomiting. as a result of the awful food or having been in the sea here, when we were able we ate out ( even though we had paid for all inclusive ) and noticed that approx every quarter mile there are waterways coming from hotels / residential areas with drains leading into the waterways, which lead to the sea where people were swimming. The stench from these waterways is sickening and I couldn't say if it was sewage, but it definitely wasn't clean water. As a result of staying at this hotel and the run down area, walk through the streets and there's burnt out cars in nearly every one and generally feels dirty, we would definitely not visit this area again and being the first time we've used love holidays, wouldn't use them again either. Our love holidays rep became aware that we we're ill having seen the wife return from.a local pharmacy, but after a brief chat he got quite angry that we'd discussed our illnesses with other guests... Not once were we asked if we were ok or if they could help in anyway. Just remembered that the air con units are rough and noisy, ours was held together with selotape and the paper jammed underneath was to stop the fans from rattling Briefly though, be prepared to be massively disappointed if you go here.
