We have just returned from a weeks stay at the hotel. We arrived after a long day travelling and delayed flight to be told the room we had booked was not available as they had been overbooked. We were offered a “free upgrade” to a room in the building over the road or to be placed in a room of a different type and moved in two days. We viewed the room in the other block but this block had limited facilities (no bar, food etc.) so opted to stay in the temporary room and be moved in two days. We were then taken to a room in what can only be described as the overflow. The room was tiny and extremely dated and not what we had paid for. The room was up many flights of stairs and surrounded by cleaning products. We felt like we had just been dumped in a room. Whilst we ordinarily wouldn’t complain we spoke to reception who kindly moved us to the room in the other block. I feel we should have been shown the temporary room before being left there. Thankfully the room over the other block ended up being great. We would book again if we could have the same room. It would be useful if they could set up a bar or snack bar in the other block. There was a disused function type room that could be renovated and put to good use. Once we managed to get settled in our room the hotel itself was lovely. It was clean and what we expected. The food & drink is your standard all inclusive. Overall we had a nice time, just a shame the welcome to the hotel let it down.
