BLUESEA Club Martha’s

This is a lovely hotel where we stayed for a long weekend. We stayed in block 1 in a superior apartment. On arrival we received a wonderful welcome and were given full details of the set up of the hotel. As it was a weekend, we took the all inclusive option. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. We had a good view of the pool and got sun on the balcony. The food on offer was very good, with variety on the days we stayed. All inclusive drinks worked well with a €1 deposit for cups, that encourages you to take them back and you were given a fresh clean glass each time. The catering and bar staff were all great and polite, keeping things clean and tidy. The entertainment team were very good at keeping you smiling. Two special mentions, firstly the south African singing duo were amazing, great voices and crowd engagement, along with the little creature who chose to join in to get the crowd jumping. Then there was the male Italian member of the dance team who has to be seen to be believed. Truly loves his job and entertaing the crowd. The pools were great, and my only negative would be that we were not allowed to use inflatables in the pool which is the only way my partner would get in, but there was plenty of space to sunbathe with a €20 daily charge for use of the large beds. All in all it's a great place to stay.

The resort claims to be a four star resort, but I would give it five stars with no hesitation, from the cleaning staff to the reception, they just couldn’t do enough, even at the bar one evening, my card wouldn’t work and the bartender smiled and said , “no worries, you can pay us later” ……. Now that is what I call service

Our flights were on time and we arrived at Palma airport at 01.05. We then had to sit for another hour and a half for the Belfast flight to arrive before we got on the coach to go to our hotel.We didn't arrive until 4 am and went straight to our room. On entering the room we were pleased with the layout, however, there was an awful smell in the bathroom. The next morning we reported this smell to reception. I emailed them too and they sent a feedback email back. Again I reported the awful smell. Nothing was done until my husband went to reception and requested that something needed to be done. The receptionist said she'd send someone up to fix it. When we went back to our room there was a very strong chemical smell. There was a blue liquid only in the toilet. I went in the shower and when I got out the blue liquid was in the plug hole. The next day wasn't too bad but then the next day the smell was back. My husband asked the cleaner to come in and smell the bathroom. She spoke in spanish to her work colleague and he said that our room always smells. My husband and I went down to reception and reported it again. The receptionist said she'd send the repair guy again. We went back to the room and the guy came. I could hear him remove the silver panel on the floor. He left and when I went in the bathroom the blue liquid was in the toilet again. The smell was very strong so we left the room to sunbathe. On the Tuesday the smell was back again. We were both wretching so we had to put a towel peg on our nose to go in the bathroom to use the toilet. I refused to use the bathroom to get washed .We were checking out on Wednesday morning at 11.00 so found it pointless complaining. When we checked out the young guy on reception asked how our stay was and I said the room was fine but the smell was disgusting. Another guy behind reception pushed a QR code card in my hand and said send feedback on there. I found him to be very rude. We weren't offered to store our cases.  We were due to leave at 14.55 so sat in the sun with our cases beside us. Our room number was 1121 and have to say that there were other people complaining about the smell too. The hotel itself was lovely and the food was ok but they need to sort out the sewerage. It really spoilt our stay at this hotel.  

On arrival the hotel and grounds aesthetically look pleasingly. We checked in before 2pm, the rooms were not ready which we knew anyway so went for some lunch at the pool bar just outside reception. Food was beautiful from there and reasonably priced too as we booked bed and breakfast. We had pizza, sandwiches, nachos and cocktails. Portions were a good size. We were allocated 3 rooms, Block 6,8 and 9. Rooms on block and 6&8 were literally 2 beds pushed up to either side of the walls with a small table and kitchen and small bathroom. Facilities in the room was very poor along with no hairdryer as they had tiled over the electrics! Room on block 8 had flies coming out of the light in the bathroom Room in block 9 didn’t get cleaned until our last day. All rooms had hot air coming from the air con as they are changing all the gases in each blocks and hadn’t done these blocks yet. This made the rooms very hot and sometimes unbearable. The breakfasts each morning was a typical all inclusive buffet however they offered Mimosas too :)! Food was good, variety good and large area for seating. Drinks at the bar were excellent! Very very good measures Baby Guinnesss’ were fantastic(too many consumed ha) staff at the bar were very friendly and helpful. Entertainment was good too. All our rooms were around the stage and you could hear the entertainment and disco until it finished. Pools were cold but nothing more than expected at this time of year. Good amount of sun beds around each pool. Could be busy around the pool but further back there were always sun beds. Shops, bars and restaurants within a 2 minute walking distance. Some lovely places to eat, drink, chill out or have a good sing along. Land train was great. We used it a few times to go into Cala D’or beach and look around the marina and the other side. But a tax back was only €7 so a taxi is cheaper but not as much fun :) train stop is on the roundabout which is 1/2 minute walk from the hotel. 45/60 minute private transfer time from Palma Airport. All in all we are disappointed in the rooms of the hotel but the area and size of the hotel is good
