Boutique Skulls Landing

The room is very large and the bed is so comfortable. Also very clean and pretty quiet considering the bar/ restaurant is near. Only 15 minute walk to Centro Isla mujeres. Even got to know our neighbors from Germany going home today. They really love skulls landing to.

It isn't often we walk away from a hotel 2 days in to a 10 day trip. I think I've done it only once before on another bad mistake, but thats what we did. The room itself is fine. No frills, basic stay. We have no issue with being basic. We're not picky or high maintenance. We're not here much anyway. However the noise at night is terrible! 1st the street noise, loud and constant. Then the rattling gate in the wind, also constant and loud. The rooms are also in a corridor to the bar. A very busy one at that. So screaming drunks outside your room constantly until 11pm. They might as well be in your room as the doors/wooden window louvers let everything in. It's just crazy noisy here.

We had a room right by the pool. The rooms are sooo noisy. The window is just a wooden shutter that only stops wind from coming in and that's it. Didn't keep the noise down, which was an issue. The bar plays very loud music till 10pm, and shuts at 11pm, so all drunken, and very loud American guests leaving the bar have to walk past the room. We couldn't open the blinds to let the light in, as you are just exposing yourself and your room as there is no curtains. Kitchen shuts at 8pm. On the plus side, rooms are spacious, have AC, coffee machine, good water pressure and comfy bed

Worst hotel experience. They We were allocated a room facing the road. Really okay room. We read well in the reviews that it was next to the road, and there could therefore be road noise. We didn't make a big deal of this, as a little road noise doesn't hurt. That night at this hotel was the worst hotel stay we had ever experienced. The room was so poorly insulated that it didn't stop the slightest traffic noise. Trucks and the island's scooters roared by all night, making it impossible to sleep. It was like sleeping on a bed in the street. it didn't make it any better that the wall in the hallway had a wooden panel which meant you could hear drunk people coming home all night. we therefore decided in the morning to check out as we didn't want to spoil the holiday. The staff politely said that they were sorry and that the refund should be made through Booking.com. We did, and found a new hotel (best decision). When we then tried to get a refund for the remaining 4 days, it was refused with several lame excuses. "You could read in the reviews that there is noise" "it's high season, so we can't refund" - after i got blocked by the manager. Frankly! Terrible experience. Don't book it if there is a chance you end up facing the street…

The room was well equipped, staff was perfect! It can get a bit loud (traffic), I'm a light sleeper, a pair of earplugs worked great! Bar/restaurant a few steps away from my room, as well as a great pool!
