I miss you Breathless!

Location: It's a short 20 minute ride to the airport, which is amazing! Although there was some seaweed, the beach was still very dutiful. Staff work hard daily to keep it beautiful a d the seaweed at bay. Staff: from the first "welcome home" I was hooked! I have not met a single person that works at Breathless that was pleasant, helpful, and fun. We even had one gentlemen who seemed to be transporting a laundry bin walk by and saw that my friend and I were trying to take photos and offered to take one of us, without even speaking a single word. He was so sweet. Nadia was also the BEST!!! She made great drinks recommendations by the energy pool, would make sure we had everything we needed. We missed her the one day she was working on the beach and she still came to see us and say hi. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. The entertainment team is AMAZING. Yes, it's a bit more of a party resort, but it has something for everyone. Super fun activities, shows, theme parties. The DJ is probably the best I have ever seen. Songs are always mixed well, feel good fun songs that everyone knows making for great singalong dance parties!! The rooms were well maintained, clean, comfortable, and classy. Ours faced the Xcelerate pool, which at first was overwhelming with all the noise when we arrived, but everything dies down around 5-6pm. Restaurants: FAN-TASTIC. Every night I found myself saying "we have to come back here again, this is the best ______ ever!! So much less stressful not.to have to book to go to the restaurants as well. I know on occasion people have to wait for a table, depending on the time of day, but I never had that experience. And honestly, it's not different than going to a restaurant anywhere else. Check out the adorable raccoons near the Cafe at night. 😍 (and have some sorbet for me) All in all...Will definitely be back!! Sooner rather than later I hope!

Best Anniversary Ever, Thanks to Vincent, Roger, Edwin & Victor at Breathless

We just returned from an incredible stay at Secrets Riviera Cancun and cannot say enough great things about our experience. We stayed on the Secrets side as Preferred Club members, which gave us access to both resorts, and while Secrets was a wonderful home base, we found ourselves spending virtually every waking moment over at Breathless. The atmosphere there is just so fun! The real reason we kept coming back to Breathless every single day, though, was the staff. A few people in the Xhale Club pool area deserve serious recognition. Vincent set the tone from day one, always remembering our names and having our seats prepped and ready before we even asked. That kind of personal attention made us feel like VIPs throughout our entire stay. Roger was an absolute delight, keeping the good times going by making sure we always had drinks in hand, whether we were lounging in our chairs or floating in the pool. He also had great recommendations for things to do around the area, which we really appreciated. Edwin brought such fun energy every day and was so attentive, making every pool day even better just by being there. A very special shoutout goes to Victor, who went above and beyond to make our anniversary truly memorable. He created a beautiful sand design to celebrate the occasion and was incredibly thoughtful about making sure I always had shade at our chairs. It was such a personal and heartfelt touch that we will never forget. If you are staying at Secrets with Preferred Club access, make the trip over to Breathless every day. You will not regret it, especially if you are lucky enough to have these four looking after you!

I was slightly nervous because I’ve seen reviews speak poorly on noise, accommodations for celiac and the beach. The music at the party pool stops around 6 I believe so, even if you head to bed early you will be able to sleep if you are on that side of the resort. The music does START at 8:30am so, sleeping in is probably not an option. I have celiac disease and brought an allergen card with me (in Spanish). They ask you everytime you check in to eat anywhere even the buffet. Then, your waiter confirms with you. If there wasn’t a dessert I could have they went and found me something! If I wanted nachos or ceviche with tortilla they went and made fresh tortilla chips in different oil. The beach at this time wasn’t full of seaweed but the water was definitely nicer on the party side. The water on the quiet side was mushy and slimey. They do offer paddle boarding and kayaking (included) the only thing you pay for is $8 per person for reef protection or something along those lines. The night club sometimes had good jams, other times it was obscure techno but I guess it’s up to your preference. The food and drinks were good. The buffet could have been better but the specialty restaurants were 10/10. If you are a big straw user bring your own straws. They were few and far between. Bring cash!!! The ATM charges $9 plus a $9 exchange rate. TIP the staff! Be polite. Get the APP to register for certain activities. Bring sunscreen - I think sunscreen was like $50 at the gift shop. Learn a little bit of Spanish…the staff will love you! Even if it’s not great - it shows them you’re not just a tourist but you genuinely want to enjoy your time and their culture. I traveled with my freshly 18 year old son for a wedding. There was plenty for us to do together are apart. Xcelerate Junior Suite - swim out tropical view - right behind the party pool with a very slight view of the ocean.
