Caneiros Luxury House & Suites

Very nice hotel and professional service. My wife and I traveled during off-peak season (November 2025), so there were fewer guests, but the facility was clean; staff were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive; and hotel is a short (~10 minutes) walk to the beach. It rained heavily during our time there and we were fine spending an entire day at the hotel using the pool, gym and room service, and we'd gladly stay here again if we were to revisit Algarve.

This is an amazing hotel, one of the best we've ever stayed in. The hotel is spotless and our room (suite) was large with a huge balcony and a distant seaview. There's a spa and a small but well-equipped gym and the outdoor pool is perfect for the long hot summer days. I've seen other reviews saying that there aren't enough sun loungers around the pool but there were always some available when we wanted them. We had breakfast outside each morning overlooking the pool and countryside. Service is at the table and, surprisingly, wasn't a buffet as it was cooked to order; there's a really good choice of food from cereals, fruits, pastries, bread, cheese, cold meats, cooked food. Other food is available throughout the day, with a good selection of snacks and lighter lunches although the choice is a bit limited in the evening. We ate in a few times in the evening and it was great quality and very tasty but you will want to try other local restaurants. There's a few within 15 minutes walk of the hotel and we do recommend the seafood restaurant at the local beach (also owned by the hotel). It's not cheap but it is top quality seafood. The hotel is located on the edge of Ferragudo. The nearest beach is busy but beautiful and is about 5 minutes walk. It takes about 30 minutes to walk into the centre of Ferragudo. We were advised to download the Uber app and it cost about €5 to travel to the centre ( well worth it in our opinion). Good local excursions included a boat trip to see the caves (stunning) and a visit to local vineyards (we enjoyed a recommendation to Arvad). I've saved the best bit till last; the hotel was lovely but the thing that really made it exceptional for us was the staff. They are so professional and so friendly. Everyone was so helpful and welcoming. Whether it was barstaff, cleaners, reception etc didn't matter as everyone would greet you with a friendly smile and a cheerful hello (or Bom Dia!). I will mention some staff. At breakfast, Ana, Bruno and Claudia were brilliant, you really felt like they wanted the best for everyone. A special mention goes to Alexandre who we regularly saw in the afternoons and evenings. We really enjoyed our conversations with him and his knowledge of local vineyards and wines. He even researched and listed local vineyards for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Arvad Vineyard (recommended by Alex). Overall, we loved our 10 nights at this wonderful hotel. If we ever visit this part of the Algarve again then we will definitely be looking to return here.

This is truly the best hotel I’ve stayed in, I think there’s a combination of factors of why I loved it so much. Firstly it’s spotlessly well kept, modern and contemporary in style. It has all the amenities you could wish for, with plenty of seating choice for meals, comfy pool loungers and places to relax. The rooms are beautiful boasting views of the pool, surrounding landscape and each with a balcony. It was nice to see hotel toiletries not in dispensable bottles again. These were Molton Brown so very luxurious. The beds were very comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean and well equipped. The staff here went above and beyond to make your stay the best it could be. We had 2 wonderful ladies serving us breakfast each day and were on hand at the bar throughout the day too. The breakfasts were full of variety and consisted of fruit and pastries with macaroons on the table to start. The fruits seemed to be changed up each day! We then had the choice of eggs or a fry up with some healthier options in the mix too. We also opted for lunch in the hotel on various days and we really enjoyed the baguettes and salads. The lunches I felt were well priced and very convenient to ask for after a morning at the pool. The hotel landscaping was beautiful, the hotel had lovely gardens which the infinity pool overlooked. The pool was pretty cold, so I would have preferred this warmer, but it depends on your own preference. Outside the hotel there were at least two walkable beaches and a handful of wonderful restaurants to try too. We loved the Beach bar called Ed’s, which did delicious food and drinks in an exotic setting. Whilst we were in Portugal there were 24 hour power cuts affecting the country. The hotel was super accommodating and cooked us steaks on the bbq with tapas using the ingredients they could. This night was our last on our family trip and ended up being a nice relaxing night instead of a difficult one! We would 100 percent come back and highly recommend this hotel!

This was our third visit to Caneiros - and we enjoyed it as much as before - wonderful weather, spacious and comfortable Atlantic View suite with a huge balcony, fabulous breakfasts and a delicious supper menu. All the staff were very friendly and most helpful and we cannot compliment them enough. We also twice ate at the Hotel's Beach Restaurant - not cheap, but outstanding! We thoroughly recommend Caneiros and we plan to return.
