Cape Fahn Hotel

I genuinely love this place. Perfect relaxation hotel. Small, only 20-30 villas, so not busy like some Thai hotels. Beautiful rooms, great pools, a lot of amenities. The staff are all incredible, so friendly, great with the kids. Food is good, a lot of options. We will be back to this one I think.

We had a short 4 night trip and loved every single minute of it. This is a beautiful hotel in every way and is matched with first class facilities and dedicated, personal, yet friendly service. From start to finish we couldn't fault a thing! Our transfer from the airport which was included in the price was quick and efficient and we were at the hotel's hospitality lounge on Samui in 10 minutes. The hotel itself is on a small island no more than 100m away. Transfer depends on tides. Mostly whilst we were there the water was cutting the island off completely (but very very shallow) so transfer was on a hotel vehicle driving across which was fun. When we left, the tide was high and we used a small boat. During the day is was usually possible to wade across to Choeng Mon beach as the water was only knee deep. Once we even walked as the tide was out. Bottom line is that the hotel is readily accessible whatever the time. The vehicle transfers stop around 11pm, although after that can be specially arranged, so it will never be a problem. We had a Deluxe Pool Villa which was perfect. 300 sqm in size with a lounge, bedroom, large bathroom with huge tub and shower, lovely deck for sunbeds, outside shower and topped off by a 10m X 3m pool. Everything was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Housekeeping kept it that way with twice daily visits. We were facing the sea towards the rear of the island. To be honest, I'm sure every single room is amazing. The island is quite steep to get to the spa, the Long Dtai Restaurant, the gym and the Spa, but it really isn't that far so wasn't a problem. If necessary, buggies are available and can be called in minutes. There are two restaurants, both of which also have a bar. Long Dtai which is perched high on the island with amazing views across the sea. This is a high quality Thai restaurant and is also used for breakfast. And Hue which is at beach level, next to the main pool looking over to Choeng Mon Beach and serves a wider and more eclectic menu. We used both bars and had breakfast in the hotel. Everything was excellent. The pool area is quite large considering that every room has its own pool anyway, so there were always plenty of sunbeds available. There are also sunbeds on the beach. It was quite nice to sit in the shade with a cold drink served by the first class staff. The hotel offers a wide menu of additional services, both in house and externally, plus will arrange transport for you to other parts of the island. This is all controlled by an excellent APP which was easy to use and very helpful. Last but not least, the staff. At every stage and in every part of the hotel, they were without exception, friendly and helpful, without being overbearing. Never too much, but always there when you needed then. Just how it should be. Highly recommended and I hope to be back again in the near future. Many thanks to all of the Cape Fahn Team.

Absolutely fabulous. Having travelled extensively, I can truly say this resort is top class. i would find it difficult to make suggestions on how to improve our stay> The guest relations manager, Dimitry, was ever present and always willing to assist and chat. Nothing was ever a problem. All of the staff are amazing. Of note Aom and Nan at Hue were extremely good. The resort has a relationship with a hospitality school in Paris and we were extremely lucky to have Viktor, Abel, CC and Nelia working on secondment there when we were in residence. They are young, bright and fantastic hospitality workers as well as being great people. We will be back of course!!

We booked Cape Fahn via Luxury Escapes for a 10 day stay, looking for relaxation following a prior short trip to Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat so it had been 4 days of long travelling and sightseeing before reaching Koh Samui. The LE package gave us a great price with inclusive 3 course dinner or lunch at Hue, one dinner at Long Dtai, daily cocktail, return airport transfers, a massage each, free mini bar (soft drinks, beer and snacks) plus more. We chose an Ocean View Pool Villa, had requested by email and were allocated to Villa 19. For us this was a perfect choice - it has complete privacy, not overlooked at all, faces east so has a great view from the bed of the sunrise each morning. The sun then rises over the top of the villa so the sunbeds can be shaded, but this suited us fine. Maybe choose a villa facing a different direction if you want maximum direct sun. We also had a few days of rain showers and quite strong winds and being high up on the island out of direct sun the wind did swirl around and could get a bit chilly. The pool was great, in water temperature, quality and size. It was cleaned by discreet visits from the pool guy. The staff at the hotel really made it a great stay, all being very friendly and attentive. We did have a problem on the first day where the staff seemed unable to grasp that our drinks were the LE daily included cocktails and not on the happy hour deal, but the reception sorted this out and from then on there were no problems at the bars or restaurants knowing the deal we and others were on. The meal at Long Dtai was OK, but we actually preferred the menu at Hue which had plenty of Thai and international choices to not be repetitive through the 10 days. We had planned to eat some evenings at Choeng Mon restaurants but as Hue was so good we took the boat/truck over a few times to have a walk and a drink and a snack (Jumpin' Bean was the best bar we found) but were happy to eat at Hue watching the sunset and the fishermen in the bay. Their Thursday free cocktail hour guest get together was a great way to meet other guests and chat to the guest relation staff, as being mainly villa based it is a quiet resort (though obviously there is the pool and beach but we were happy to sunbathe chill at the villa). The villa's are superbly kitted out. The bed is very comfortable (and that's from a couple used to a waterbed), with a pillow and duvet menu available. The bathroom and toiletries are quality and the lounge are is a great bonus. Housekeeping is very good with daily cleaning, sheet changes every other day, turndown service, free gifts each day, fresh fruit etc. The hotel app can be used e.g. if you want ice, need any housekeeping, room service etc. I'm sure I'm missing some key points to praise but overall Cape Fahn is a great choice for a relaxing and quality time on Koh Samui.

We have just arrived home after a week of luxury at Cape Fahn Hotel. The whole experience has set the bar very high and I imagine that there will be very few hotels that will be able to exceed our experience over the past week. Of course the hotel and villas are beautiful and it feels like you are miles from anything, peaceful and relaxing but what really makes the Cape Fahn stand out are the staff. Each and every one of them from the house cleaning staff to the hospitality staff and management staff impressed us with their attention to detail and friendly attitude. Of course a special mention to Angie, who went above and beyond to make our holiday a unforgettable experience.
