If you need a place to crash in Samaná, this hotel can be convinient. Rooms have a comfy bed, fan a bathroom. Also have a TV but I never used it. And it’s cheap! It’s near to the Malecon, where you take the boat to Cayo Levantado, you can go by walking in 5 min.

You get what you pay for, rude staff

Was there for one night, paid 750 pesos after some haggling for a single room. Bed was clean, water was running, toiled was flushing, location was great. Other than that there are no reasons to stay in either this hotel or Samaná city other than for the whale watching. Great location comes with loud motorcycles on the street starting 5am. Staff was rude (she asked for 200 Pesos "tip" when I checked out) and folks were drinking upfront. The elderly guy was actually nice in the evening and offered me to put my motorcycle in the backyard. Only problem was that by the next morning they were reconstructing the entrance to the backyard and five guys had to help me carry the big machine through mud and open canalisation - Dominican Republic, live ;-).

This place was a disappointment. The only place in the DR where we had airconditioning, but definitely not worth the money. Unfriendly receptionist. Aircon had to be manually turned on and was turned off again at 07:00 in the morning (checkout is at 11:00), at 08:00 already got really warm, so we felt we needed to get out of bed. Not the worst thing in the world, but if you pay for something, you want it to work. Shower did not have hot water, even though we asked and were told there would be and the showerhead wasn't even attached, so we had to shower with a hose. Bed wasn't comfortable either and the sockets (powerpoints) didn't work. All in all a horrible hotel, we were happy to leave after one night.

Simple but sufficient

This hotel is really close to the city center of Samana and within walking distance of several bars and restaurants, the room itself was pretty small but enough space for 2 people plus bags without feeling cramped the bathroom was sufficient and I've seen several reviews about there not being hot water, there is hot water but you have to go down and ask someone to turn it on for you, I'd recommend this place for anyone simply looking to have a decent night sleep in Samana without going to an expensive hotel.
