Official Description

This is an environmentally-friendly hotel that cares greatly about sustainable growth that has a unique approach to hospitality located in Agios Sostis in Laganas Bay. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the 9 km sandy beach, one of the longest in the Mediterranean, and perfect for exploring the rest of Zakynthos. The place is also conveniently located for the town shopping centre (500 m.) and just 6 km from the airport. The friendly staff will help guests to hire bicycles or rent a car to see the protected nesting turtles and visit the beautiful landscapes of this, the 3rd largest Ionian island. Otherwise visitors can just sit and relax by the pool and enjoy cold drinks and snacks. A home-made breakfast is provided with freshly-baked bread and cakes, free-range eggs, oranges and plenty of olive oil. Guest's special events are celebrated with a free bottle of wine.

Castelli Hotel, Aghios Sostis. A little gem.

Family run hotel in a great quiet location but with plenty of eateries and bars if required along the beach and inland, all within an easy walking distance. The hotel and rooms were clean and comfortable, housekeeping came to our room every day. The owner, his family and staff were very welcoming and helpful in every way. The food was good, there was always something that appealed to our palates. The evening entertainment was pleasant, but not notable. There were daily activities, but we were too lazy to participate. We did a pleasant boat trip to Smugglers cove and the Land Train to the town. Walked around and had pre-dinner drinks overlooking the beach and Cameo island most evenings. As in other reviews there's an insufficient number of sunbeds around the pool for the guests. If we do want a day by the pool its stressful to secure one at the start of the day. We had a very relaxing, enjoyable holiday. The hotel was great. We personally thought Zakynthos lacked a bit of character. But speaking to people at the departure airport and friends on our return, they return time after time.

The staff were very helpful and accommodating, helping us quickly whenever possible. The food was the best all inclusive food I’ve ever had. Fresh meats, pastas and salads daily. The cocktails were also nice as well as strong. The location will require some walking to nearby restaurants and cabs to go further afield. We upgraded to the swim up rooms for the last 3 days which we would recommend as we spent the last 2 days around it.

We had a great time in hotel Castelli. Wonderful people working in the hotel. They have a solution for every question and always with a great smile. Delicious food with a great variety of fish , meat , vegan, starters and dessert. Location perfect just outside of the village. For visiting the better beaches you need a car but they are there a lot availeble.

Wish I could give the Castelli hotel 6 stars. A true family owned hotel. Every member of staff is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. For the staff on reception the word " no" doesn't exist, just " let's see what we can do" or " give me a moment". Rooms are spotless. Towels and linen of high standard. Shower room/ toilet is compact, but has everything you need. If you want to keep fit, join in with activities the options are there. If not then just take it easy round the pool or in the olive garden. This is an adults only hotel where rest and relaxation are a priority. The food is farm to table. Cooked with local ingredients by a very talented Chef and his team. The dining room staff and the bar staff work so hard to make your stay as good as they can, it is all inclusive after all. The hotel is well situated for access to the beach, Laganas and Zante town. If you want to get out and about the staff on reception will advise and arrange any assistance you may need. We can't thank everyone at Castelli enough for yet another amazing holiday

What an amazing team.....

The hotel was lovely, not sure about the wet bathroom but it was okay. The staff however were amazing. We had such a warm welcome and with a quick show round we were shown to our room. It was so friendly and welcoming. The front of house staff were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. "The General" in the restaurant was beyond our expectations. She actually made our holiday as she was funny, welcoming and knew us! The owner was on hand in the morning and evening and was there to chat to you and answer any questions which was so lovely as he told us about how it all started. Evening entertainment was fab and we even went to the cookery class which was brilliant. The reception staff were very informative regarding trips and sorted out the contact for us for the ones that we had chosen. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. This was a friends holiday and we made so many lovely memories that it is instilled in us forever. Thank you Castelli.... xx
