Coco Reef Resort & Spa

This was our first time having been recommended to Coco Reef by friends who travelled with us to the hotel. They were right; the hotel is wonderful if a little tired at the edges but in no way did this detract from our enjoyment. Our room was comfortable and spacious with a great beach view. Some reviewers have said some of the staff are not friendly. What! They were absolutely fantastic and made our visit. I cannot recall all the names so, not to miss anyone, I will name none but well done to you all. Also I see some criticism of the restaurant food. I cannot understand this as we thought the food was excellent and amongst the best we have eaten in Caribbean hotels (and we have visited more than a few). Lennox the head chef produced a great varied menu. We will return next year when I expect the Painkiller cocktail that I taught the bar staff to make is at the top of the cocktail menu.

We have recently returned from Coco Reef having had the most amazing 3rd visit. We recommended the hotel to some friends we met in Antigua over the last couple of years and they decided to join us and they were not disappointed. Yes, there are some places around the hotel that could do with an upgrade but this does detract from its charm…and don’t forget..you are in the Caribbean! The food has improved this year under the watchful eye of Lennox, the Jerk Pork fillet was stunning. All the staff are fantastic, unfortunately I am useless with remembering names so apologies if I forget anyone, you all are amazing. Thank you to Beverly, she made me an amazing Bob Marley! Also to Jinelle, Shanice, Jean, Marissa, Junette, Amoya, Ria, the lovely lady who sorted me out with cheese and crackers in our room when I had an off day, sorry, I’ve forgotten your name but thank you! Also new shoes Frederick! Also many thanks to Janelle, Esther, and the lady that calls me “Mr Soca”! This year we did an island tour for the first time. Tobago is a stunningly beautiful place. Lester was our guide, he was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed our day. Finally thank you to the new boss lady(apologies, name thing again but I’ll blame it on the rum punch!), we’ll definitely be back next year…if you’ll have us! 😎

We had a wonderful week at Coco Reef in March 2026. The hotel is in a excellent location. Probably the shortest airport transfer you'll ever have (3 minutes!). The hotel faces out over the sea & waking up and having breakfast overlooking the blue sea, taking in the sands and the palm tress is something you'll never forget. It's just a short walk to the streets of Bon Accord which seemed safe and friendly, and a mile and a bit gets you to Pigeon Point if you wish to really want to stretch your legs. The hotel's sea lagoon area is lovely, a jewel in it's crown, and gives a safe swimming and snorkelling area, right at the end of your sunbed. The food on the whole was good. I'm in agreement with others in that breakfast stands out, lunch is too, but order early. Dinner was not bad but somehow felt it was trying to something it didn't need to be at times. The hotel never appeared to be overbusy, and finding a sunbed by the sea or the pool was never a problem. Eating at a time suitable to us again was no problem. Was easy to be served at the beach bar and drinks were good, especially if you catch rum punch on a good day!! The staff on the whole was ok. Some served with a smile, some didn't. Either way you are in Tobago - it's beautiful, enjoy it! To grab a view of some of Tobago's beauty, we took a day tour out. Hans Tours are pushed on guests but I'd suggest a bit of research and grab a day out with someone like PETER COX tours, where you will get a unique and private experience tailored to your wants. Maybe we got a little lucky, grabbing a BA all inclusive package which fell in the 'quite affordable' category, either way this hotel is lovely, avoids the noise & delivers a wonderful chilled out experience you'll never tire of.

We have just returned from our 9th vacation to Coco Reef which was probably our best to date ( we will definitely return) coco reef is so relaxing and is set in a stunning location. Yes, it is in need of some TLC but that is very much part of its charm and improvements are being made daily . All the staff are amazing - too many to mention and wouldn’t want to miss anyone out but would like to say that there are some great newcomers including Michael, Amoya , Johannes and Rea who went out of their way to make our stay special. Also, thank you to Janelle for going that extra mile to sort out any issues we had . We really appreciated it.

Really great hotel, has the proper Caribbean feel to it. We stayed here for two weeks, initially because we were diving with Undersea Tobago who are based in the hotel but we were glad we did as I think it is probably the best hotel in the Crown Point area. The protected bay with a private beach was great and there were plenty of sunbeds with natural shade from the palm trees. All the staff we encountered were great, very helpful, friendly and always smiling. Breakfast was good, service was great. Lunch and evenings we went out to eat although plenty were staying all inclusive. If you are going to Tobago I would definitely recommend this hotel.
