Code Hotel Samui

This is my sort of hotel! We arrived before check in time and were offered use of the facilities until our room was ready, gym, pool, showers, restaurant... When we checked in, our luggage was already in the room. Our Penthouse room view was stunning and room facilities excellent, clean and smelling lovely. The hotel restaurant/bar serving tasty food all day and breakfast was great, with a wide choice of eggs, including Benedict and avocado poached. The shuttle bus worked on demand, and we didn't have to wait long for a lift down the hill. The pool area was really nice and clean, towels provided and loungers/sofas available. The hillside location was perfect, quiet and close to nature. Ruby and staff are so friendly and helpful. We hired a scooter from the hotel, which worked well. Airport transfers arranged at a reasonable price. Overall, a great hotel, highly recommended and we would like to return.

Code hotel Some positives , some negatives which contribute to not being the spa , boutique hotel they are aiming for. Positives The view is beautiful, land and sea - birds at full volume and lush flowers & trees Hotel is very clean , everything is white or beige Food - evening restaurant not available when we were staying , a little inconvenient at times but when open the food was delicious, fresh and based slightly cheaper than the uk Breakfast- little variety but fresh , large egg menu available but no good if you’ve an allergy / dislike. Fresh fruit daily , cereals , hot selection , pancakes , muffins , salad , breads etc Staff - Lay , Yoo & Bee - absolutely make this hotel , friendly welcome and truly wonderful souls . Genuinely couldn’t ask for better people. Such genuine people, working hard. Bus runs up and down the hill , WhatsApp reception or pop in - the hill is very steep Gym - nice little set up , lovely view , air conditioned Spa area - didn’t utilise Numerous 7/11 and restaurants at the bottom on the hill , followed by a quiet beautiful beach area with bars and restaurants. NEGATIVES General manager Ruby didn’t engage conversation with us ONCE in two full weeks but seen openly chatting to other guests daily - disappointing. Not even a good morning. Electrics didn’t work in our second bedroom at all Showers are awful - red hot or freezing cold in both en suites and zero water pressure Air con stopped in second bedroom in 2nd week Kitchen cupboard - very poor condition - smashed - could be improved/ removed/repaired Rug - dirty looking in living room Bedding on arrival both beds had blood evident on them , we arrived late and these weren’t changed for 3 days! Pool is not suitable for children, plus light fitting sitting on pool floor for 14 days. No lifts / lots of steps - this didn’t effect us but if you are less able bodied / a small child this could be a big problem getting around the hotel. Beach bags, slippers & robes are left in rooms - we were questioned on the “lost” beach bag as we checked out - I offered to open my suitcases to prove I didn’t have this nor had I used this once. I also not another customer on check out was charged 100 baht for a broken mug - bit bad taste in our personal view All in all , we loved our time in Koh Samui , did lots of trips , used Bolt & Grab for food and travel The hotel could be improved but overall a good experience, however we would not return here

We have just spent a week here at CODE Samui Hotel and we wanted to give an honest review of our experience here. Firstly, when we arrived, check in was very quick and efficient, I arranged ahead for some bubbles and flowers in the room as we were celebrating my wife's 50th Birthday, this was all present and correct. The room was one of the suites and was huge with the biggest balcony, very clean and comfortable. The downsides to the room were that there was a kitchen but no plates, pots or pans in case we would have wanted to cook a meal at any point and also one of the cupboard doors was damaged quite badly, but these are minor points really. The hotel itself is for the most part, very well equipped, clean and tidy too. The staff are truly amazing, one of the guys is called Lay and he is an absolute gem, a real credit to his employers, we spoke to the manager Ruby on a number of occasions too and she was also very nice, happy to stop and chat and see how we were all doing and listen to any of our praises or Indeed concerns. As the week went by, we found breakfast to be of a good quality, the location of the hotel means that you don't have any rowdy behaviour, all the guests seem very happy and content in their surroundings. All in all, it is especially for the price we paid a very, very good hotel, but... There are some points we would like to make. Firstly, on check in we were told that there was a Sauna and Steam Room, neither of which worked all week, we use Saunas and Steam Rooms very regularly and would have liked them to be working, we were constantly told they were or would be working, but they weren't. As of us checking out today, the reception staff were still telling new guests that there was a Sauna and Steam Room they could use, which as they know that they don't work, they aren't being honest. The position of the hotel means that at this time of year there is only one small area next to the pool where there is any sun at all, usually by 7.30am someone has claimed it meaning that if you want to get some sun you will need to leave the hotel, which was OK for us most days, but we've heard a few people complaining about it and it would have been nice to have a chilled day without having to leave the hotel. There is a space where folk usually park their mopeds at the front of reception which has sun all day, maybe something could be done with that to allow people to relax down there and get some sun at the same time too!? When my wife wanted to use the Spa she was going to book a body scrub but was told that this was only available as a package then when she tried to book a package she was told it wasn't available, they could only do a massage, even though the body scrub is listed on the menu as a separate item. The rug in the lounge area of our room was really quite dirty, more like ground in stains which really should have meant the rug was replaced. Finally, upon checking out, the reception team asked housekeeping to check our room and they found a cracked glass in the sink which is fair enough, but it was the fact that they tried to charge me 150 baht for the glass when we have spent the week here, had a 5000+ baht room bill and we'd spent a fortune behind the bar, not to mention that the Steam Room and Sauna hadn't worked all week. For me, on principle this left a slightly bitter taste in the mouth and as far as customer service is concerned I feel was pretty poor. In summary, a great hotel, fantastic location of you're looking for something a little quieter than the main places in Koh Samui with good links, especially if you hire a moped. The staff were absolutely fabulous with Lay being a particular highlight. There are a few points where things could have just been tightened up, where the customer could be put first and the 4/5 would have been a very easy 5/5. Thanks to everyone at CODE Samui for a fantastic week on the island and in the hotel, just a couple of little changes here and there and it would have been pretty much perfect.

From the moment we arrived, the staff at this hotel went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. No request was too much trouble, and every member of the team was so genuinely warm, friendly, and helpful. We arrived earlier than expected, yet they kindly arranged for our room to be ready straight away, which was a wonderful start to our visit. The housekeeping staff were fantastic – our room was spotless each day, no matter how late we left it. The food was absolutely delicious, with every meal exceeding our expectations. When we had a small issue with wasps outside our room, both reception and the lovely barman dealt with it immediately and with such kindness and professionalism. It’s rare to come across a team who truly care about their guests, and the staff here made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. The only small downside was that the mattress was quite firm for our liking, but that’s purely personal preference. We were informed that the hotel will soon be undergoing refurbishment, and we’re already looking forward to returning to see the changes. A huge thank you to all the wonderful staff for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable.

Comfortable rooms. Very good staff, especially Lay. Great Thai food. A little far from anything but a free shuttle bus is available.
